You need one of the official Cubs' scorecards. In the scorecard, it lists the other teams' pitchers alphabetically and assigns them numbers (from 1 to, say, 14 max). Those numbers are the ones they put up. Ah, thanks. I had figured it was alphabetical in some way but wasn't sure.

While we're talking about the scoreboard, has anyone ever figured out the meaning of the numbers they use in the SP and RP columns on the non-Cubs games? It's been 13 years since my first game there and I still have no clue.

Bridgewater is going to be in the American this year and if he does what he should will never play a snap in the ACC. I'd go with him.

Well, there's Twitter buzz of possible extension chatter between Garza and the Cubs, but If I had to bet, I'd say that's posturing. Worth mentioning, though.

True. But if we're patient with Castro and Rizzo, hopefully the filler can bring back something for nothing at the end of the month. And I'm not so sure I'd lump Schierholtz in with the flotsam. Also, Hairston is below the Mendoza line.

Wood's probably not going to pitch either - he's scheduled to start the Sunday night game before the ASG. Don't they usually replace the guys that start on Sunday to the active roster? Maybe Shark has a shot of making it. Yes, they replace anyone who can't play.
