  1. Even though it wouldn't be true, the obvious joke would be to post a link to the Cubs roster here
  2. If the bastards at the pizza place don't have cheese sauce, I suggest shorting them $50 to send a message.
  3. The only reason Veras was signed was to be traded and since he clearly isn't going to net any kind of return, can we get rid of him please?
  4. Judd and Ron spent that entire half-inning talking about Jeter being the all-time playoffs leader in all these different categories without even mentioning how many more rounds of playoffs Jeter has played in than anyone who came before him. Pet peeve.
  5. If Theo really didn't think we had a chance at Tanaka, why didn't he do anything else all off-season? I'm as sick of 'the plan' as anyone here but I'm not sure how much I buy that.
  6. Bill Barnwell just Tweeted that the odds of Cleveland winning those three lotteries was just under 15,000-to-1.
  7. The Cubs deserve to be insulted, but I'll admit not to liking the clear implication that Starlin Castro isn't a WINNAR because the teams he's on have been [expletive]. ETA: I'm also probably reading too much into that.
  8. I enjoy the bleachers, but they're an acquired taste. Getting there early enough to get a top row seat, so you don't have to lean, is a must (and usually this means being there before the gates open). This isn't a problem for me because I'm always coming from out of town and love spending as much time in Wrigley as I can, but for some it can be an issue.
  9. I'd complain about bad luck, but given this organization's focus for 2014 it's probably closer to good luck
  10. Castro or Rizzo would obviously be the best bets because they're the ones most likely stuck here until Theo decides to start trying again. I like Travis Wood as a long-shot bet, though. He seems like he might have a Ted Lilly-like rage monster inside of him somewhere.
  11. Just one? Must not have thought much of him.
  12. Where in the term "fielder's choice" is it stated that an out is a prerequisite? The fielder made a choice to go after another runner. It's as clear as can be. The pitcher didn't give up a hit and the defense didn't make an out.
  13. Was at that game. Teed the hell off on Charlie Morton. So much fun.
  14. I picked Roberson in Round 2 of our mock draft. Oops.
  15. It was. We got our 10,000th win 6 years ago, so we're still doing well there.
  16. This team is winning at a clip far less than the 2012 team did, so I doubt it would take even that much.
  17. Whoa, Schierholtz knocked the hell out of that.
  18. I really don't want to hear a word about FIP and xFIP. He walks people and he gives up hard contact all the time. He sucks.
  19. It's only been 8 games That's quite a few games for a SP to not have a win when he's sporting a 1.45 ERA.
  20. And the first reliever promptly gives up a run.
  21. Shark's ERA now 1.45, still zero wins.
  22. Lynch signed with the Bears.
