  1. post some of your glorious dead drunk cardinals things "Go crazy, folks!" That could be posted every day until I die and I'm pretty sure I wouldn't get sick of it.
  2. He's got more wins than Hammel since we traded him.
  3. I'm surprised they'd even allow him to come. Maybe if we name Doubront team president they'll only hold up the deal for six months.
  4. Me too. I have sigs off, so avatars are the quickest way to know when scrolling.
  5. Interesting buy-low candidate. I was really high on him going into last year but he flamed out.
  6. Preseason coaches poll being released at noon tomorrow. It is now functionally pointless, of course, but still.
  7. It's about avoiding a double play and hopefully adding the pressure of avoiding a wild pitch for the next hitter. Then bunt with Nate, who sucks, and at least create the possibility of a sac fly. I'm not against bunting, but with 1 out the benefits are minimal. If you're bunting with Schierholtz, the only possibility of a sac fly is with Arrieta at the plate. The bunt was not about moving runners, it's about making sure Arrieta doesn't kill the inning with a double play. Arrieta didn't have to hit. Isn't Baker still available? (I realize I'm killing my point by defending Baker as an MLB hitter.)

  9. So after you let dog [expletive] Nate hit, NOW you want to bunt when it's not really going to do any good? Ugh.
  10. Well, my friends, the time has come. To raise the roof, and have some fun.
  11. This Bud Light Rita guy might or might not be but definitely is Satan.
  12. Sega. No real reason other than that's what everyone else I knew with video game systems seemed to have. I got one of my own for my 10th birthday and was pretty much obsessed with it for a while there.
  13. People keep talking about his stuff but all I ever see is line shots all over the park. He's good enough to be an MLB pitcher, I guess, but I don't see anything in his stuff I like more than any other pitcher in the rotation.
  14. I vacillate between whether it's aggravating or hilarious to watch Edwin pitch every 3 days.
  15. I love when people talk about this as if A) it's such a bad thing to win 85 games and be in contention most of (if not all of) the season, and B) that you can just know when you put your team together how many wins it's going to get. The Cubs are probably better off now than they would've been if they'd tried harder to not be terrible the last two years, but that doesn't mean we need to speak with such disdain about having winning seasons.
  16. It's a pointless exercise, because the Cubs are not trading for Price. At the price he'd command right now I wouldn't want to.
  17. I kinda want a Brewers/Angels World Series. A's/Braves, please. A's/Giants would be pretty cool. Save STL making it, I'm hard-pressed to come up with a feasible WS matchup I wouldn't like.
  18. Why? Yeah we can sign him in the off-season. Why bother now?
  19. Yes, and I should've included B1G in that too, although as everyone knows they're moving to 9 in a couple of years.
  20. Fire Theo if we didn't get Joc Pederson for him
  21. Jimbo Fisher is spouting the usual nonsense about how conferences that don't play a league title game (i.e. the Big 12) are dodging an "opportunity to lose, get injured". The irony that only 2 ACC (and SEC) schools play 9 league games while all 10 Big 12 teams play 9 is apparently lost on him.
  22. We have terrible players for the most part which is why they tend to not perform well in the clutch.
  23. It is so [expletive] sweet to see Baez is going super-Javy on AAA like he did on AA last year
  24. Pretty sure it's something Bonifacio brought in. Don't know what it really means though. Here it is: http://joefrisaro.mlblogs.com/2012/05/10/lo-viste-creates-waves-in-houston/ I thought it was Valbuena.
