    if theo can't do anything without a top payroll he isn't special and we should've hired someone else who might have been. This isn't even an Oakland Athletics payroll right now. We'd be near the bottom of the league if we weren't still paying Alfonso Soriano money to not play here. Also he came into an organization that had no minor league system. Oakland had a worse system than we did after the 2011 season as rated by basically everybody, and had a team that was just as bad. You might have heard, but they've won consecutive division titles since then (and in a division where, unlike the Cubs' division, there are teams that actually spend money) and are favored to do so again this year. You don't HAVE to tank 3-5 seasons just because you don't have a battalion of top prospects available.

    Someone put on Twitter that the NBA constitution only allows the league to force a sale if the owner is in money trouble. I'm sure they can suspend him though.

    Carolina absolutely must, must, M-U-S-T take a WR with this pick. There are a few options here, but Carolina's best bet with Cam at QB is a guy who can catch the deep ball, so the Panthers will go with Marqise Lee of USC here.

    The Hinrich part was the Bulls were down 2 in OT and Hinrich drove the lane, threw up a layup, and Noah tried tipping it in. They called a foul on the layup attempt, sending Hinrich to the line to potentially tie it up with 2-3 seconds remaining. He clanked the first one and tried missing the second, but Washington got the rebound Jump ball was with, I believe, 10 seconds left in regulation (3 on the shot clock as CCP said), Taj chases down a loose ball and dives to get it in front of the Bulls' bench, Nene jumps on top of him and somehow gets a jump-ball call out of it. Then, as someone posted in a GIF earlier, Nene grabs Taj's arm on the jump ball to win it. Ridiculous loss.

    Good to know I wasn't the only one who 100% would have rather had Jo trying to hit a contested tip-in with 2 seconds left than Kirk at the free throw line.

    I liked Len and Bob more in that department (like Len and JD more in the actual baseball-game area), but anytime Len veers from the game tends to be a fun conversation.

    I will always wonder if maybe they knew the team sucked and was hopeless and wanted to give a job to one of their failed prospects just because they liked him. Well they definitely knew the team sucked.

    52, by the 1903 Pirates. It's a long season, if we don't get it on this stretch we'll have more chances. '85 Astros went 42 for a more-recent mark. That's one to shoot for.
