    I don't get why you guys are so caught up in things like this. Some players/pitchers aren't championed in the minors and can develop into really good players in the majors. It happens quite often actually. Because it never seems to happen for us. Every once in a while we see some irrelevant dude like Donnie Murphy play out of his mind for a few months, but almost never do our marginal players develop legit, solid careers, which is what consistently happens in St. Louis. Yes, I think this is what it is. Now I'm going to waste time trying to figure out the last time a generally untouted guy turned into a legitimate thing for the Cubs for more than a month or so. ETA: I guess you could pretty easily make the case Arrieta would qualify, actually.

    I can. It wouldn't surprise me to find out that they'd had a 6-game or longer win streak on a road trip before but didn't win all the games on said trip.

    2003 Ha. I have that Straight Lines song randomly pop up on my MP3's now and then because of 07. Keeping the Dream Alive too for a while because of 03. I DL'd that song for the same reason - also I Love This Town from 08.

    I don't know what the stats said about him on D, but he seemed adequate at worst and occasionally better than that to me.
