  1. C'mon ABC 7, was that really necessary? We have national broadcasts if we want to dredge up bad memories.
  2. Heyward with an absolutely terrible AB there.
  3. Or Rosscup for that matter.
  4. I don't know why the hell he wouldn't, though. Even if he's given up on the division, we're two [expletive] games behind Pittsburgh
  5. What the [expletive] was that
  6. He's probably still smarting from the foul ball, enough to make the platoon decision more logical in Joe's head. Why that doesn't apply to Bryant and Baez vis a vis La Stella is a new question.
  7. This would've been the time for Bryant...
  8. Lynn was bitching at the ump The Right Way.
  9. Luckily the ball doesn't seem to be carrying much today.
  10. He had legitimately good numbers in the minors, so if he does well it's not ridiculous. Unlike Piscotty and Grichuk, he's actually performing well without a sky-high BABIP, too. Piscotty and Grichuk were/are legitimate prospects, they're playing above their expected level but they aren't nobodies. Pham is Bryan LaHair. Yeah, I didn't mean to imply that the latter two weren't real players, just that their success isn't to this point dependent on a ludicrous BABIP.
  11. I've been watching their last series against the Rangers, and I still feel the hate for the Astros. I love watching them crash and burn. I got an irrational annoyance out of watching them lead their division after tanking more blatantly than us and screwing up their draft picks so royally, so I'm totally ok with them dropping out.

  13. I didn't want this post to be prescient, dammit
  14. Oy, don't want to give them extra outs with Haren pitching.
  15. Let's hope the wind knocks down some fly balls so that 4th run not scoring doesn't matter.
  16. Not if the Cubs can get 2 out of 3 this series. Even if we do that, they still clinch if whoever's next on the elimination totem pole loses a game.
  17. Yeah, if Arrieta is my #1 surprise, then Schwarber is #2, how [expletive] awesome Bryant is at all the non-hitting aspects of baseball has probably been #3.
  18. There's a wide gulf between 'very good' and 'legitimate argument to be considered the best starting pitcher in all of baseball this year'. I expected him to be good, I did not expect him to be silly-dominant.
  19. TLS in front of Montero? Ok, then. I guess Bryzzo were going to get days off at some point, but I'd rather them not come against STL.
  20. I see St. Louis is wasting no time putting to bed the idea of being 3 out at the end of the weekend.
  21. Schwarber was and is a stunner, and Russell was at the time, but the #1 surprise for me has to be what Arrieta has done. He's been unbelievable.
  22. The remote is going to get a workout Saturday night.
  23. The way Bryant hustles is just so [expletive] awesome
