Monmouth being out at the expense of basically cancelling Syracuse's crap stretch without Boeheim (never mind that he wasn't there because the crusty old coot was running a cheating program) is a joke. ND/Michigan, IU/Kentucky and Texas/A&M as potential matchups show the committee has a sense of humor.

I like Fowler at the top. Zobrist at 2 is fine, Schwarbs there would be cool. Bryzzo 3/4. But there aren't many wrong answers with this group.

It just strikes me as #firstworldproblems complaining. People bitch up a storm that college football games aren't scheduled at the most convenient possible time, but don't care that the title game ends past midnight on a Monday, killing kids' ability to see the game. Not that I'm doing a "but think of the children!" thing, but the point is there was no perfect way to schedule those games, at least not once the SEC and Big 12 teamed up for their silly Sugar Bowl deal to lock in the NYD time slot.

Due to NYE falling on Saturday this year, the playoff just announced that the two semifinals (Fiesta & Peach) will kick off at 3 & 7 p.m. ET instead of 4 & 8. Orange Bowl will move to Friday night, Dec. 30. I liked the NYE/NYD tripleheader concept (although with NYD on Sunday those games are on Jan. 2 this year), so I'm not in love with this. Also not crazy about how this will inevitably embolden the people who spent the last year whining about the NYE games, which I got sick of very very quickly.

Never said last year's Bulls were great, but that 'gimpy short-handed Cleveland team' destroyed Atlanta in the ECF, so it's not a huge leap for me that the Bulls could've beaten them. The Bulls haven't been legitimate title threats for 18 years. More than half of our lives. There's been some fool's gold along the way and last year was definitely that. GSW would've absolutely defenestrated last year's Bulls. Of course they weren't a title threat. I never said they were. I am with UMF though that the 2011 Bulls were legitimate contenders, and 2012 was too prior to Rose breaking.

Most of this team was the same group that would've probably made the Finals last year if not for a Game 4 meltdown against Cleveland. Nice job, GarPax.

he was born in Missouri grew up in Texas and turns 30 in spring training. He is an old redneck. He's much much closer to being Jon Lester than Addison Russell, Kris Bryant or Jason Heyward. And he went to an SEC school and he's best buds with Carpenter. TCU joined the SEC?

ND went from slightly better than 50/50 to make the tournament (my opinion) to tied for most wins in ACC play in just under a week. Pretty good stretch.

Yep, multiple HD streams going at once in our house is an issue. Also, 4K and its successor are coming soon. Data caps are being implemented in a lot of areas. There's no free lunches in media consumption. Eventually, costs are going to rise a good bit on streaming if everyone transitions over to that. Bingo. Once cord cutting becomes the majority, the companies in charge of it will inevitably be able to get away with charging close to as much as cable + Internet currently costs for most people even if the bandwidth doesn't actually cost that much. (I admit I don't know all the particulars of the recent FCC net neutrality ruling, and if there's some provision in there that would prevent such a thing, feel free to call me an idiot.)

The silver lining is that since Hoiberg is incompetent, maybe the Bulls can fall out of the playoffs and get a lottery ball. If you're going to willfully downgrade your coach without even the slightest major personnel change, you might as well benefit that way.
