  1. If Obama wears Cubs stuff when he threw it that'd actually be pretty cool.
  2. This is a very, very bad idea. We have an overload of half-decent or better bullpen arms for the first time all season right now. Don't mess around with a bad one.
  3. Teams set rosters for each series, and we haven't set ours for the NLCS, so we can make a change without an issue.
  4. Of all the days for the NLCS to be in the afternoon, Tuesday would be the crappiest from a purely selfish perspective as I have to work late that night and would have to go radio silent for like 8 straight hours before I got to watch.
  5. Fox had all the LCS rights at the time. I know in 2004 the NLCS was basically exiled entirely to FX, which at the time not that many people got. Not sure what happened in 2003.
  6. I didn't register for the NLDS because I knew I couldn't go anyway, but did for the NLCS despite the fact that I couldn't go anyway. Also didn't get in. Hoping for a WS miracle, or failing that, that I can get a ticket from someone who does.
  7. If the NLCS goes at least 6, and the Cubs win it, that would line up Lester/Arrieta again to go in Games 1 and 2 of the WS. If we win in less than that it'd probably be flipped.
  8. The time I saw was after the inning and it was because Dyson and Tulowitzki exchanged words. AFAIK Bautista's bat flip didn't result in anything but awesomeness.
  9. I get a kick out of the BTTF thing, but I think it'd be a bit too cartoonish to have Michael J. Fox throw out a pitch. Stick to Cub greats. Sammy needs to get a game. The place would explode.
  10. That's surprising considering it'd be a 5:07 local start if LA wins. Not that surprising. National needs override local ones at this point.
  11. LMAO I hope Javy never learns anyone's name.
  12. It really is amazing. Every one of our noted young dongsmiths has gone yard at least once, some twice, and Schwarber has two of the most epic dongs the playoffs have ever seen - even Castro got in on it. The level-headed among us would've, and probably have, laughed at the idea of doing what we just did.
  13. I'd start Arrieta, but after he had a mortal outing Monday, I can understand the idea to give him an extra day.
  14. 1987 Twins won 85 and the title, which seems freaking impossible to have done in the two-division era.
  15. I got crap on GRB for stating this, but I still feel like Maddon meant that the Cubs wouldn't be reverting to that beanball nonsense and that's what he meant by 'stop stuff'. Unfortunately, since the Cubs hit 3 batters the next day, the narrative became that he meant we're going to take it up to 11. But whatever, we [expletive] finished it.
  16. I have one of those too. I'll probably wait until next season to start giving him crap about this series.
  17. meh happens to me too with a lot of this stuff. I expected it to happen when I saw the last pitch of the series but it didn't quite. If we win the NLCS, it will.
  18. I like Anderson. He was pretty decent in the series. Eckersley and Simpson, though, were atrocious.
  19. [expletive] amazing post. We finished the [expletive] out of it.
  20. I finally watched the game on DVR. I'm beyond in love with this team. I love them all so much.
  21. Schwarber 1 still first, just inches ahead of Schwarber 3, but I'm sorely tempted to put Javy 2nd. That was so unexpected and so [expletive] awesome considering everything Javy had dealt with the last 14 months, and on a really good pitch. It just made me so happy
  22. I honestly don't care. I wanted to kill St. Louis. And we did. We chopped their [expletive] heads off and put their superiority behind this generation of players forever. I think we can beat anyone. If you make me pick someone, I guess LA.
  23. I've worn my Santo jersey for every playoff game, including under work clothes.
  24. I have to think that's what it amounted to.
  25. Damn, I kind of liked 2 pitchers in the lineup.
