    The championship game isn't confusing, the division part is. If they don't need divisions - and they don't - they might as well just match the 2 highest-ranked teams in the committee rankings. It makes little practical difference, though.

    In news that doesn't involve schools covering up or not caring about violence against women, the Big 12 is apparently bringing back their championship game starting in 2017 even with 10 teams. For some reason, they plan to split into divisions even though everyone plays each other anyway.

    Anecdotally, it seems like opposing managers opt not to challenge a fair number of calls I think were wrong.

    Yeah, I don't really get that one either. Other than Molina and the occasional annoying comment from Wainwright, I don't think I hate anyone on that team more than anyone else.

    Awesome though we may be, I'm not sure we're any more likely to win any given playoff series in 4 or 5 than we are in 6 or 7.

    I was just reading an SI.com article about Zobrist's fantasy success and it mentioned that Anthony Rizzo has had a runner in scoring position for just over 40% of the pitches he has seen this year. That is ludicrous.

    Heyward is going to go on a line drive rampage soon to get his numbers back to where they generally are and I can't wait to see what happens when he joins the rest of the offense. Rizzo is due for a hot streak as well. He knocked the piss out of that double yesterday so hopefully it's about to start.

    I don't think warnings were necessarily needed in that specific scenario. Joe Buck's self-aggrandizing "but think of the fans that came here to see Syndergaard!" talk annoyed me more than it should have. Maybe Syndergaard should've thought about the fans that came to see him before playing beanball.
