  1. I was at last Saturday's game as part of a bachelor party. It was actually legitimately fun down the stretch when Jimmy was singlehandedly carrying the team. Rondo picked a good day to decide he could shoot too.
  2. Where is Phil Simms going? Nobody knows right now. Tony Gonzalez is leaving the studio show and Simms has some experience with that on Inside the NFL, there is talk he lands there. But I agree, who cares? Romo is going to be a massive upgrade in that spot. I'm actually looking forward to it.
  3. well then call me a monster because i get buona beef just about every time now that it's available and i'll opt for a brat over a hot dog when it's not inconvenient I had some Buona last year at a game, and at another game I had a pulled pork sandwich. Not earth-shattering or anything, but both were very good. Digging Levy's stuff.
  4. Also the fact that we won the World Series makes things like some 10-year minor league journeyman I've never heard of ripping a double and scoring the winning run a little less annoying, but not completely
  5. I guess Mike Montgomery can't win us the World Series every time he pitches
  6. It's too bad Chapman is a piece of horsefeathers human because that Game 5 performance was legitimately the most clutch pitching performance in Cubs history and it's really not close. Lester coming in in Game 7 is in the ballpark, but it did start with a 2-run wild pitch.
  7. Yes, ESPN will of course be showing it. They're even running promos for it already. And yeah, it would be nice if Len could be involved. Usually the only ESPN-only games are the Sunday night games. I do see the Cubs schedule only lists ESPN, but that would be very unusual. Also, I was in Wrigleyville this weekend and there's construction everywhere. They've got a lot to do before next Monday.
  8. Not nearly as preposterous but still wild is that the Bulls are now 27-25 vs LeBron's teams since The Decision, which I believe includes the playoff series LeBron has won in that time frame.
  9. He hadn't done much of anything all series, to the point where I legitimately was fine with Maddon starting Ross if he wanted to. Both Contreras and Ross had one hit coming into game 7. The rationale was that if we weren't going to get much from the catcher position offensively, I wanted the best defender in there. Naturally, we got 3 RBI from catchers in game 7.

  11. I haven't read the book yet, but that was in the SI excerpt and it's my favorite part so far.
  12. Fournette also went to Jacksonville in this mock at #4. I'd have taken him for Carolina at #8 otherwise. There's rumors of Carolina trying to move up to 2. No idea if they'd take Fournette there or not, but Rivera said today there's no spot too high to take a RB. No idea why they'd jump the Bears, unless there's other teams also after Fournette and multiple teams are trying to move up. Again, just a rumor, no idea if RB is what they'd want in a move up. For the Bears sake, I'd love to trade out of 3(but stay in the top 10). I do think Fournette is probably the player a team may be enticed to move up for in this draft. I haven't heard anything about them wanting to move up to 2. Fournette is a logical move for the Panthers with Jonathan Stewart entering his 10th season (he just extended his contract one year, through '18).

  14. Makes sense, the tickets I always printed off StubHub were identical to the ones that are now being shown in the app.
  15. Only if you save the MLS All-Star Game from Goldenface's latest dastardly plot
  16. I've never been a big fan of the gold-tinged stuff, but the hell with it, we won the freaking World Series, they can wear purple clown suits all this season if they want.
  17. WVU shot 22% from 3 (and under 30 overall) after going off for 57% (highest of the season) to knock out ND. Not that I was bitter about it or anything
  18. I thought it was a joke, but someone pointed out that Jonah, who 'likes' more Tweets than everyone else I follow put together, didn't 'like' this one. Incredible given he posted this same list last year without a peep.
  19. Pretty stunning that a pre-teen would care more about his favorite college team than someone who went there for a master's in theater? What? I didn't get that either. When I was 12, I absolutely lost my horsefeathers about games. It made some of the crap I used to post in the CFB threads look tame.
  20. I knew neither that Scott Feldman was still a starting pitcher nor that he was on the Reds until they made this announcement
  21. Carolina made the brilliant decision to trade away the guy (Kony Ealy) who was a halfway competent offense from being MVP of the motherflipping Super Bowl 13 months ago in exchange for moving up four horsefeathering picks in the draft. Since Fournette (Carolina's other major need is a RB) is gone, I'll address the need the Panthers inexplicably created for themselves by taking Tennessee DE Derek Barnett.
