  1. It's one way to term a sac bunt. It might be the official way, I'm not sure, but I've certainly seen it called that.
  2. If we were going to Cishek anyway why let no control Wilson face Bader?
  3. In case no one else looked it up yet, Carpenter has only once hit more than 23 and has never hit 30, and it's July, and he's 32 years old. Sure.
  4. This clown is gonna hit 40. What a joke
  5. I'm so glad St. Louis keeps St. Louising
  6. That is complete horsefeathers umpiring.
  7. Alright, fine, the luck is close to even now
  8. Good luck, Gant. Completely squared him up that inning.
  9. Three weakly hit balls and they have a run. Tough luck.
  10. Let's hope Lester packs all his regression into one start.
  11. Like this a lot. Getting him from Texas to Wrigley should help and like TT said, we could use another Montgomery.
  12. Great inning here. What a brave new world feeling entirely comfortable with Heyward up in a big spot.
  13. I guess Lester starts a game 1 right now, but man, our bats sure look like they'll have to carry us through October right now.
  14. The hyper-cautious treatment of Morrow sure is going swimmingly.
  15. i think it was mostly the former though must've felt like candy from a baby Am I imagining things are wasn't there a part in Moneyball where Beane said he liked working with Hendry for these reasons, or now that I'm thinking more about it was it something about him being surprised the Cubs took Brownlie because it was a surprisingly good pick. If that's the case Beane got the last laugh on that one... however they picked Blanton 3 picks later who 14 years later served up one of the most glorious dongs in Cubs history so we win. I finally read Moneyball recently and I think I remember that. Beane wanted Brownlie and was surprised we took him.
  16. I think Molina might be the only other catcher so I bet he stays in a little longer.
  17. If we do our job we won't have to worry about the Dodgers until the NLCS, and I'll take my chances at that point. And they'd still have to win a crapshoot best of 5 against the NL East champ under that scenario.
  18. Well, if a Cub couldn't win it that was pretty cool
  19. God that was amazing
