    Beltre said he wants to finish his career in Texas earlier today and I'm pretty sure he has no-trade rights.

    The Cubs are on pace to get as much value from Bryant, Rizzo, and Darvish combined as Bryant provided last year, and they have the best record in the national league. I'm not on the doom boner train - I'm not remotely worried about holding off Milwaukee - but this would be a much more heartening fact if we had solid reason to believe Bryant or Darvish were going to be Bryant or Darvish from this point on.

    This is a perfectly fine depth move provided it costs almost nothing. He'll be like our 5th-best reliever.

    Kyle did a really good job ignoring everything Jim Hickey told him, at least after the first inning. I'm assuming Lester is way too self-confident to have ever listened to a pitching coach anyway, so if he can keep ignoring Hickey, we might have a chance. Go Cubs.
