  1. He isn't hitting well anyway but he seems to turn into a total spaz with RISP
  2. I'm going to choose to believe PCA wouldn't have done that if the first pitch had been correctly called a ball
  3. But by the time it does they might be a lot closer. I would've been satisfied with a split so winning the next 2 still makes this at least OK for me, but Boyd and Shota will need to step up to make that happen.
  4. Much more fun top of the 3rd, but why do we have to hit missiles to get them out and every fly ball STL hits finds the bullpen?
  5. horsefeathers nut bar lights us up every single time it feels like
  6. Can't smoke everything at fielders all night, right? Right?
  7. I swear to Lucifer St. Louis purposely seeks out dudes with stupid names to annoy other fans when they perform well. Goes back to Skippy Schumaker. Lars Nootbaar and Mike McGreevy absolutely fit the bill.
  8. I am not nearly smart enough to understand why Brown is so wildly underperforming his advanced numbers, I just know I'm growing tired of seeing how good they are every time he gets shelled.
  9. You're correct, he was viewed as a big get.
  10. LOL I said aloud "Oh, just hit a home run" right before that swing. He's the goddamn MVP
  11. He did not just do that Holy horsefeathers
  12. Brown really walked the tightrope this game. But hey, we're still in it. Let's get a few in the air and get them out of the park.
  13. I believe ESPN showed this at some point during early COVID lockdowns. Very enjoyable.
  14. Civale asked for a trade after being told he was going to the pen. There were probably a few chuckles in the Milwaukee FO when they found the Sox made the best offer. "You want a trade, buddy? Here ya go. Enjoy total irrelevance."
  15. Something's going to have to give at some point on this whole "Brown's peripherals are outstanding while his actual results are largely bad" trend
  16. Not coincidentally, that was the last time I ever panicked about a bad stretch. If that team can go 5-15, then we can deal with teams not as good as them having rough times.
  17. Frustrating game but Detroit played awesome and the Cubs played slightly less than awesome. No more Skubals this weekend so this series is still there for the taking.
  18. It's a good thing Shaw got that hit. Skubal may not allow another one
  19. That play at first with Shaw is about as close as I've ever seen. Legitimately don't know if he was safe.
  20. That was 6 feet shy of getting out, and to the opposite field to boot. I would've absolutely lost my mind if he'd gone deep.
  21. You know, I would never say those games weren't stressful because obviously they were, but I don't think I ever really thought they were going to lose. Particularly once the Cleveland outfield misplayed Russell's fly ball into a 2-run double in Game 6, I thought it was gonna happen.
  22. 2016 was the most fun and it's never going to be topped. We all thought the team was going to be awesome, and if anything they exceeded expectations. It was a beginning-to-end blast. That said, this season - so far - has been absolutely delightful, and PCA transforming into an MVP seemingly overnight has been a complete joy.
  23. So PCA has a 2 run HR to dead center that I can't believe he muscled out and he just raced into the gap to snag what probably should've been a double. Just another day
  24. It makes perfect sense for Detroit to hold Skubal to face us, they'll be favored to beat the White Sox anyway, might as well have him face a good team if they can easily make it happen. Not that I expect they considered this all that much, but in the extremely unlikely event the Cubs and Tigers end up with the same record and meet in the World Series, I believe HFA comes down to head-to-head record.
