  1. If Russell wasn't a dick that gets out
  2. It's unreal how Russell seemingly goes out of his way to antagonize this fan base. Just do something horsefeathering right, anything
  3. I think I ate Skyline once in college because they had a location in Muncie, but I don't remember. I did enjoy the chili dog at Great American Ball Park, however.
  4. Well that didn't take long to be denied
  5. This Albies stuff is a legitimate phenomenon at this point.
  6. World Series game 2, starting a shutout with the wind blowing straight out at Wrigley Field with his dad in the stands will most likely go down as the highlight of his career, I'd say that's enough. That's an excellent point.
  7. Josh Tomlin has done so much for this franchise. I feel bad he's not been honored in some way
  8. Beautiful job by Heyward in that AB
  9. No, it appears we kicked his ass in a start in Cleveland last year and then he pitched in relief later in the season at Wrigley.
  10. And no one's picked him up???
  11. Warren did suck (at least until the damn instant we traded him back to the Yankees), I think he meant somebody else. Cahill was actually quite good in 15 and 16, though he only started once. I was specifically referring to spot starts. In Warren's spot start he gave up 1 run in 5 innings although the Cubs did ultimately lose the game. Clayton Richard is another guy who comes to mind in that vein.
  12. i think 2 reasons: 1 - they thought his early season stuff in long relief was encouraging and could produce ok enough results against a guy who has been shelled in his first 2 MLB starts. Remember when we used to start guys like Adam Warren and Trevor Cahill and inexplicably it worked? It always seemed to work back then just as it always seems to fail now. 2 - They are in the middle of their most difficult and strenuous stretch of the season and they want to take a chance and help keep the veteran arms like Lester and Cole (and I guess Yu) rested. Of course this goes completely against their "urgency starts in april" mantra they went on and on about in the spring, and even if this was the plan it should have been thrown out the window when Hendricks went on the DL, but who knows what the horsefeathers the FO and manager is doing these days I'm gonna be honest, I only remember Adam Warren and Trevor Cahill sucking Warren did suck (at least until the damn instant we traded him back to the Yankees), I think he meant somebody else. Cahill was actually quite good in 15 and 16, though he only started once.
  13. If you're in the mood to excuse Chatwood (not that anyone here would or should be) [tweet] [/tweet]
  14. It might be time to just start doing the opposite of whatever we think we should be doing against Albies
  15. It's unfathomable to me that we're in year 5 of this cycle and this is the 4th time we've been an absolute horsefeathering disaster with RISP (and even in 16 we were a touch below average). I'm not sure the 'no such thing as clutch' rule applies with that large a sample size
  16. Decent fake rally, could've been better. At least the top of the order will have a shot in the 9th
  17. I don't even get excited about him going ahead 0-2 because I know the next 3 pitches aren't going anywhere near the zone.
  18. Darvish horsefeathering blows and I'm tired of him.
  19. They couldn't be aiming those double play grounders to short any better.
  20. The surplus value from the early years of this contract that is supposed to cover for the back half of it just keeps piling up
