    Travis d'Arnaud and Tyler Flowers both have COVID symptoms, and were the only catchers on the Braves 30 man. Yeah, I just read that. I knew William would come up at some point this year for the Braves, just not this soon. I have him in a very deep fantasy keeper league and I was not expecting him in MLB at all this year.

    It's already too late. I guarantee they will change it to that stupid thing, just like they'll add that absurd runner-on-2nd rule. The runner on second better be temporary too. I know it is weird, but one of my absolute favorite things about baseball is that a game can theoretically last forever. I have loved long extra inning games ever since I was a kid, and whenever I go to a game I am usually quietly hoping for a 15 inning marathon. Not only that, but there is something about lying in bed at 2am with the Cubs still playing long after everyone else has finished. I know I'm rambling, but this is one rule change that I just can't accept.Of all my favorite nights I've ever spent at Wrigley, the Lester walk off bunt game and the Soriano walk off slam game, both 12+ inning games, are in the top 3 (and seeing Bote's ultimate slam is the only reason they're not top 2). The idea of losing that possibility (or having it bastardized by nonsense rule changes) is depressing as hell.

    Yup. I think the current format is perfect. I go back and forth on the DS being 7 games instead of 5 but that's it. I'm still not a fan of the second wild card but can live with it. If it was best of 3 I'd be more for it. I just can't stand playing 162 games, and then possibly being 1 and done before the real playoffs start because the other team was able to start 2015 2nd half Arrieta. (I know, odd pointing out an example of a time that greatly benefitted us but still, doesn't sit right with me) But again, its not the worst thing ever, I just prefer it not be 1 and done. One-and-done before the real playoffs start is awesome, win your division if you don't like it, and also the idea that the ninety-damn-seven-win Cubs wouldn't have made the playoffs without a 2nd wild card alone is enough for me to support it. The only problem with the format is the problem with any format at all, and that's that the owners have managed to turn it into a reason to avoid spending money or making big trades ("Why break the bank for a coin flip?")

    Juan Soto tests positive and is out. That sure didn't take long.

    Yeah, that report seems to be leading the speculation that the name will be the Sentinels. Not the worst name, I guess (evidently it was the runner-up for the XFL team's name Defenders), but sort of bland. Red Tails would probably be the best option but it doesn't look like that will happen.

    I think it's hilarious that they just tossed him on the 45-day IL with an injury that absolutely does not require that much time. They're transparently saying, "Oh, thank God we can just get rid of this clown"

    In addition, the Tweet I saw said that to account for 2 series that conflict with Pirates' home series, the Jays will be the 'home' team in road games against the Yankees and Nationals.

    Can't say for sure, but spring training games are generally blackout-free.

    yep, should be interesting as Pat and Ron will broadcast road games from Wrigley. Last I read Len & JD would be doing the same. I am curious about this. Will there only be one group of camera operators? Will road team announcers be limited to only talking about what the home team is currently airing? That's correct. I believe there's been talk that the teams will have some level of cooperation to help road team broadcasts.

    Speculation I've seen is that he and other memebers of the organization are on Epstein's list of clients. I haven't seen Epstein invoked but saw some speculation that there's a whole bunch of #MeToo type of guys who were quietly ushered from the organization and protected from any real consequences.

    Rizzo's MRI showed rib inflammation as expected, and status for Opening Day is uncertain. If 3+ months of not playing, and dropping weight, isn't enough to make Rizzo's back functional, I guess it never will be.

    Well if all the conferences go conference-only, Notre Dane will just scrimmage itself 12 times ACC has already said they'll accommodate ND, not that it matters much
