  1. I agree. What's the over/under on days until Tim adds that to the list of banned derisive nicknames?
  2. That has to be frustrating for Brady Quinn, who IMO earned a trip to New York. His stats were much better than Leinart's (300 some more yards, 5 more TDs) with no Reggie Bush in his backfield.
  3. Trebek: You wrote...nothing. The question was to write anything and you got it wrong. I'm speechless. And your wager...eleventy billion dollars. That's not even a real number. Keanu Reeves: Yet.
  4. Naturally, Bama coming back from a 20-point deficit and are now within four now that ND can't shoot threes anymore. Ball State struggling a little with IUPUI, only up 1 with 13 mins left.
  5. ND is leading 19th-ranked Bama 38-24. Colin Falls is 5/7 from 3, including one that was about the funniest shot I've ever seen in my life, because he had to pass the ball on an inbound and get it back and shoot in about 3 seconds, with highly comedic results.
  6. Fixed. fixed I laughed out loud when I saw both of the "repairs".
  7. It's impressive that the Cubs finally figured out that you needn't pay more than about 1.5M for bench players.
  8. 1987 Indians had Steve Carlton and Phil Niekro for a while. OT: I saw a 1987 Indians game at the tender age of seven and a half months.
  9. Sweeney - 2 years, 1.8 million Neifi - 2 years, 5 million I know this happens every time a bench player signs but, just in case anyone's blocked it out...
  10. No word yet on whether Kolb's tail will be between his legs when he makes his return.
  11. They also had DLee in the middle of the order. All we have to do now is trade for Beckett, Castillo, Burnett, Willis, Conine, Cabrera, etc. and we will have a WORLD SERIES LINEUP!!!!
  12. Good poll. I like the move. We give up a guy who is never going to amount to much (Mitre) and 2 guys that may or may not amount to anything (Pinto/Nolasco) for a real leadoff hitter. I realize that Walker would be competent as a leadoff hitter, but since neither Jim nor Dusty seems to know that, we might as well get a decent guy at the top. A top two of Pierre and Walker would be exponentially better than what we had last year.
  13. ESPN does not mention Otsuka in the article and Wells talks have evidently not gotten very far.
  14. I realize it's Offman, but... why is it that everytime the Cubs trade for a player they always try and immediately sign him to a long term deal? The only time I can remember this happening was DLee...
  15. Reading between the lines of Hendry's comments, it seems pretty clear that if Nomar would really play the outfield, he'd be signed as a Cub right now.
  16. I've been wearing my Nomar shirt all day today in hopes of a miracle. How ironic...I wore my Nomar shirt yesterday as a farewell. Of course, I wore a Cubs cap sideways today in tribute to Juan Pierre, so my sanity is in question.
  17. For a second, because this came after a Macias post, I thought you were referring to him, and not Nomar. I was about to have you committed, involuntarily to the nearest mental facility. For your own good, of course. I'm going to be honest...I passed that post up too, but only because I didn't really know what to say since it was after a Macias post.
  18. In March: Wood will miss April. In April: Wood will miss May and part of June. In May: Wood is gone till the All-Star break. We know how this process goes.
  19. Wood is likely not going anywhere with his NTC. CPatt, Welly and a bucket of balls should land Milton Bradley for RF. We have a good second baseman - Walker. No reason to trade him. That leaves Williams and Koronka, who could probably not land anyone all that much better than Cedeno in a trade.
  20. Another good move for the non-existent Red Sox GM.
  21. I clicked the press conference link on Cubs.com and am getting video streaming of MLB.com Radio, so it appears at least that you might be able to actually watch the press conference. Just FYI.
  22. That prediction made me wonder, so I checked and I was surprised. OSU has given up more than 25 points just once this year, 31 at Minnesota. Other highs were 25 v. Texas, 24 v. Michigan St., and 21 at Michigan. They gave up 10 or fewer points 5 times(N'western, SDSU, @Indiana, Iowa, Illinois). Not trying to make anything of your prediction, just seeing it got me thinking, and what I found I thought was interesting. I agree with you completely. If Texas, who scores 50.9 PPG and get on average 522 yards per game can't put up 27 against OSU, I don't see Notre Dame, who scores 38.2 PPG and gets on average 505.4 YPG, putting up 27.When it comes to offense: Charlie Weis > Mack Brown JMHO. Although I wouldn't be at all surprised if the game ends up being lower-scoring than that.
  23. That's a photoshop? Doesn't look like one...
  24. No real news on BBTN today but I saw Eric Wedge being interviewed and was compelled to say that he looks remarkably similar to good old JR Ewing himself.
