  1. Hmmm, I'm not so sure this comment is appropriate. It's also a joke that's been made thousands if not millions of times. Come with some original material, dude.
  2. Bring it on Huber! :) I'm worried about this one - I know I picked Carolina but with Peppers and Morgan not at full strength and having to rely on Goings it's going to be a stretch. However the Panthers have run stuffed Barber and Jones the last two weeks and as a whole have been solid against the run (discounting that awful Cowboys game). Their secondary has proven to be among the better by beating two young 'uns but I don't know how they'll do against a guy with more experience. Either way, it's been a great season - and I look forward to a great game.
  3. Nice, nice trade for Cleveland. You get a very good prospect and a good reliever, plus will be able to acquire a replacement OF on the cheap. All this for a guy who, while good, is not even close to an impact player.
  4. It's interesting - all the free time I have in college has made me a sports junkie. I've already watched more non-ND college basketball games this year than I ever have before in a season.
  5. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem you're alone.
  6. Bulls are smashing Indiana. I liked Larrivee's little comment that "when the Bulls get about as many FTs as the other team, they're pretty good". :) And it's true, we've probably lost 4 or 5 games this year simply because the other team shot 20-30 more FTs than we have.
  7. Ball State finally wins too! 62-61 over Bowling Green with 3 games against teams with 4 combined conference wins coming up! It really is a good day :)
  8. The Big East has UConn, Syracuse, Pitt, Louisville, Cincy - and you know who's winning the conference? West Virginia. That's what's so amazing about the Big East. So many highly regarded teams in the conference, and the one that's playing best and winning the conference is slipping under the radar amid all the hubbub.
  9. When a middle of the road Big East team beats the undefeated Dukies, that shows something. I can't wait for ND to get destroyed by the Hoyas on Tuesday and go to 1-5.
  10. Coach K should have been saying "Give Redick the ball every time you get a rebound or I will revoke all your scholarships". How he doesn't even touch the ball in those last 20 some seconds is absurd.
  11. I voted Todd Walker. I don't really know why.
  12. Outshined had the quote in his sig back in October, I know that much. Goony sounds like the correct answer in terms of who it was that originally posted it. Might want to ask one of them for the quote.
  13. No. Only two other teams besides Pittsburgh and Carolina have even won two road games in a row in the playoffs (95 Colts and 96 Jags). Guess what? TWO teams are winning three games in a row and going to the Super Bowl this year. Pittsburgh will beat Denver 17-14. I thought that New England won three in a row on the road in 85 to get blown out by the bears in the Super Bowl. Correct. I really love making mistakes on this site. :D Well, the amount will triple after tomorrow.
  14. Great. I look forward to the first-round matchup with Detroit.
  15. How do the Bulls lose by one point - in double OT - the same exact night that Notre Dame loses on a last-second shot to Marquette? It's amazing how cruel the Sports Gods can be when exacting penance from you for something finally going right.
  16. Somehow, Notre Dame managed to lose (to Marquette) on a shot with 1.1 seconds left, and the Bulls managed to lose by one point in double overtime. It's a good thing I have Carolina - because my college hoop teams are a combined 1-9 in conference. (1-10 after Ball State finds a way to lose to Bowling Green tomorrow.)
  17. Will you be on here during the game NC? I'll need someone to help me gang up on MHuber :D
  18. It seems ridiculously odd to me that not only was Neifi Perez getting pumped for the All-Star SS job just 6 months ago, but I was able to say "Neifi wouldn't be a bad choice" with a straight face.
  19. Charlotte's been able to support the Panthers without any problems, although it remains to be seen whether the Bobcats can succeed in that town. Anything is better than Miami for the Marlins, though.
  20. Speaking as someone whose greatest regret in life is being born too late to fully appreciate the MJ Era, I have to say no. I would gladly go without a Cubs title for the next 20 years to see a once-in-a-lifetime player like MJ play for the Bulls or Panthers.
  21. You have Bay, Craig Wilson, Jody Gerut, and Burnitz - that's pretty damn good.
  22. No. Only two other teams besides Pittsburgh and Carolina have even won two road games in a row in the playoffs (95 Colts and 96 Jags). Guess what? TWO teams are winning three games in a row and going to the Super Bowl this year. Pittsburgh will beat Denver 17-14.
  23. I think this game will come down to someone you might not expect. (Ricky Proehl? Maurice Morris? Joe Jurevicius? Nick Goings?) The Pick - Panthers 27 Seahawks 17. Maybe Carolina's got some injury issues but they will stop Shaun Alexander and make Hasselbeck beat them with his arm. I don't think he'll be able to do it.
  24. I don't hate Neifi. I hate Neifi's sub-.300 OBP batting in front of Derrek. I hate Neifi's two-year, 6M deal including signing bonus. I hate that he's no doubt going to be Dusty's new Macias in terms of bench usage. I hate that his defense was apparently enough to keep him over Nomar who we could've had for probably 2M more a year max. I hate that he's a terrible hitter. But no, I don't hate Neifi.
  25. Wojo is one of ESPN.com's two or three best writers.
