  1. My thoughts exactly. I think we'll see some trades and very soon. Could you imagine the joy on this board if Neifi was actually traded? Neifi was listed among possible infielders in this week's Sports Illustrated to be shipped out, but we all know better than to think Jim and Dusty would allow it.
  2. The Beatles may not win this whole thing, but they'll be going much further than this. I vote for them.
  3. Interesting, because reports indicated that Paxson wanted to go after Pryzbilla, but Reinsdorf indicated that he was willing to pay for Wallace. Btw, how many owners would love to have our GM and coach right now? I'm guessing somewhere between 20 and 29.
  4. Hahahaha, Woodward becomes the third opponent to be robbed of a home run by blind umpires who can't understand the concept of the basket this season.
  5. I think Walker might make less than Neifi. How sad is that? They both make 2.5 million but Neifi also has a 1 million signing bonus.
  6. This clinches it for me. Z is indestructible.
  7. Look out, folks, someone in the NATIONAL MEDIA has addressed the REAL problem with the Cubs! From this week's Sports Illustrated: Thank you, Verducci! Maybe people will start paying attention now...
  8. Dusty appreciates Neifi's play, so he must not play baseball poorly. Weak argument. Baseball has boundaries, rules, winners, losers. Therefore there has to be a correct way to do it. Art has no such limitations, it's value is not in winning, only in it's perception, which is completely up to the person who is exposed to it. Terrible analogy. I have to side with TT on this one. Music is one of the few things (movies are another) where it's quite simply impossible to find a certain example that everybody likes. Someone, somewhere, is going to hate every example, even if it's the Beatles or something equally impressive. In baseball, we can all look at Nomar's 2006 season and say "He is having a really friggin good year". But not everyone will look at (to pull out a current example) American Idiot and think it is a good album. Many might but not everyone will.
  9. November can't come fast enough. When do they release the schedule?
  10. The Cubs are back! :D *remembers how the season has gone* The Cubs are back... :x
  11. This is the worst trade I have seen in a long time, probably since Hundley for Grudzielanek/Karros.
  12. You mean mall punk? Don't call it punk plz. It's fine if you like that music, but real punk would scare most Greenday/Simple Plan/Blink 182 fans. I like all three of the bands you listed in that last part but to lump GD in with the other two much more poppish bands is nearly sacrilege.
  13. I've gotta ask the non-Idiot GD fans since I'm not one: What is so wrong with that album?
  14. I think Green Day is a tad underseeded considering they pretty much solely were responsible for people actually listening to punk again in the mid 90s, but they will lose to the #1 anyway. GD's the pick.
  15. I hate Aerosmith almost as much as DMB. I'm no Stripes fan but they get my vote.
  16. This guy speaks the truth. I'd have abstained completely but Billy Corgan is a Cubs fan so I figured I might as well give him a vote.
  17. Now's as good a time as any to get Ensberg, but Hendry will take one look at his BA and hang up on Purpura. Which is absurd.
  18. See, that's the problem. You're comparing what you view as VH's best song with a song that's not even LS's top. It's just the one you've heard most. It's like using "Creep" to judge Radiohead, or "All Along the Watchtower" to rate Hendrix. If Jump is just what I view as their best song, then what's the problem with comparing it to what I view as LS's best song? This tournament is all about subjectivity anyways isn't it? From the seedings to the matchups to the votes, subjectivity is the name of the game. Some here (not pointing at you Constable, you just have the misfortune of being quoted in this post) are taking this way too seriously IMO. It's about who you like, not who is more well-respected or whatnot.
  19. The NFC West will be pretty open IMO once Alexander goes down to the Madden Curse (and you know it's happening).
  20. No one raised me a Cubs fan. I chose this life of misery. No one to blame but myself.
  21. Once again Bruce appears to have been right on the ball when everyone else was mistaken. No big surprise there, it's just this time we didn't want him to be right.
  22. What the hell? I thought Huff was going to command more than two double-A players. :x
  23. CubbieRich's Competely and Utterly Devoid of Logic Hate List: Wood Pujols More?
