  1. I don't see any mention of what they need to do to be eligible however. Perhaps they must finish in the top 8 to get there? I have to be missing something here. Soccer says they are guaranteed a spot if they finish in the top 8. I'm wondering if they can be eligible without being guaranteed a spot or if they must be in the top 8.
  2. Bo is right. Why do you say that? Notre Dame is annually rated the most popular team in the nation. It's not like they have to compete with the Wolverines for fans. Although I despise Michigan and want to see the series continued for rivalry purposes, ND isn't really getting much out of the series other than road money. It gives Notre Dame a usually guaranteed good matchup for their schedule. You know every year there are going to be a couple teams in every conference with 0, 1, or 2 losses so you'll get good games every single year in conference. Because they don't play in a conference, Notre Dame doesn't have many teams that are guaranteed to be good. Look at last year. Notre Dame's only good scheduled opponent was USC. Every other team they played was eh at best. Michigan provides them an opponent that is likely to be in the hunt for a BCS bowl year in and year out. I think they both help each other but as Pedro said, Bo is right. The thing is though, Notre Dame has several series they have taken off thier schedule in order to get a slightly more managable schedule. If we lost Michigan, one of those teams would play us. Tennessee, Florida State, and to a lesser extent Boston College are three teams who ND has basically chosen only to play from time to time because of the strength of their schedule. I do think though that Michigan needs Notre Dame less for only one big reason. Michigan can get into a BCS bowl with a Notre Dame loss meaning very little if they do well in a conference. For Notre Dame, every loss is vitally important as it's all based on where they finish in the BCS standings-and I believe they now have to get top 8 to get considered starting this year, so that will make a loss even harder to take-which means to cushion themselves against a loss, they have to play a tough schedule, which includes Michigan. BCS Info It says if Notre Dame finishes in the top 8 in the BCS standings they are guaranteed an at-large berth. So they can still make it if they don't finish in the top 8 but they wouldn't be guaranteed a birth. I don't see any mention of what they need to do to be eligible however. Perhaps they must finish in the top 8 to get there?
  3. And those 40 ABs will be pretty decent too.
  4. Where did you hear/read this? Bruce Miles said it on page 11 (premium) of this game thread: No, I don't know that he did. I had it at 20-80 him coming back about a month ago. I've got it at 50-50 and rising every day right now. That wasn't premium. I read that. He was only saying the premium page it appeared on. The non-premium was on a different page.

  6. That's not that dumb. Michigan is guaranteed matchups with its conference schedule. Notre Dame has to rely on individual series like this one to build its schedule. True, but I think it's fair to say that each big conference team should play at least one decent team out of conference, and if Michigan dropped ND, it'd be difficult for them to find another such team to play.
  7. And the award for dumbest thing said in college football this week goes to...Bo Schembechler! Come on down!
  8. Low-income housing=Rampant Cub Hating firearm having thugs who fire guns wildly Seriously, Wrigley did a good job with the lights. They've preserved the "feel" of the stadium over the years. They have, yeah. I went to a Sox game last year, coming out at night, I thought gunshots were going wild. Turns out, it was the bucket boys being obnoxious YOU at a SOX game?! You supported their world series championship  No, it was the other way, he was choosing to accept mediocrity!
  9. The Reggie Bush? Was he wearing #5? He now wears #25. He showed some nice moves, especially once during kick returning drills. I also got Brees, Horn, and about 18 others on my ball. They were very accomodating after practice. Horn is one of the most personable guys out there. did you get his cell number? Niiice.
  10. The man has a point.
  11. Why? Are you another who thinks of them as just their ed sullivan/ boyband days in 1964 singing "she loves you"? I don't like their sound at all. I don't like listening to them or hearing about them. but you like the all american rejects Hey, nothing wrong with AAR. :)
  12. Well, if nothing else this won't be the worst Cubs team of my lifetime.
  13. Start him or send him down. Dusty won't let him pitch out of the pen.
  14. What happened to Fredi Gonzalez?
  15. Night games are a blast, and at least when I am in person I prefer them to day games. Anyone who says no to this question needs to ask themselves if they would have liked to see us play our 2003 playoff games at US Cellular Field.
  16. Don't we have enough of these already? #-o
  17. Indeed. That was predictable. Dear Buehrle, YOU HAVE A LOSING RECORD ON A TOP 5 TEAM IN BASEBALL. YOUR ERA IN JULY WAS 11.48 AND YOUR ERA IN AUGUST IS 5.68. YOU HAVE SUCKED FOR A MONTH AND A HALF. STOP BLAMING OTHER PEOPLE. Signed, all non-Sox fans and many Sox fans too
  18. I never used to believe in "fairweather fans". I now do. Ignorant statement. I have always been a Angels fan. I even write in LAA fan forums. Didn't you have an Oakland A's Barry Zito avatar before the John Lackey one? Your right I did. The reason for that is because im a Zito fan. I assumed it was because you wanted the Cubs to get Zito. Many on this board have done similarly.
  19. I cannot recall having a Dunkin Donuts version, but KK is really good.
  20. This is the only sports moment since I hit puberty that has actually made me cry.
  21. Nice work!
  22. NO. The wave is pointless and stupid. The only time I can live with it is during football games...late in the 4th quarter of blowout football games...and that's it.
  23. It started in RF bleachers. We were in LF bleachers. They started it a few times until it finally spilled over to willing participants in LF. Some regular at the beer stand was having a total conniption fit over the whole thing. To make up for it some of the LF fans began the old "Right Field sucks!" chant. If thats true, I am renouncing my membership in the RF fan club and am going to switch primarily to the LF side. RIGHT FIELD SUCKS! Should have a long time ago, man. <---- has been to 5 games in the bleachers, all LF
  24. This is a great trade for Washington to get anything out of Livan.
  25. Seriously, what the hell happened to this team?
