    NO. The wave is pointless and stupid. The only time I can live with it is during football games...late in the 4th quarter of blowout football games...and that's it.

    It started in RF bleachers. We were in LF bleachers. They started it a few times until it finally spilled over to willing participants in LF. Some regular at the beer stand was having a total conniption fit over the whole thing. To make up for it some of the LF fans began the old "Right Field sucks!" chant. If thats true, I am renouncing my membership in the RF fan club and am going to switch primarily to the LF side. RIGHT FIELD SUCKS!     That really says something as to how pathetic the NL is. Agreed. I find myself taking cursory glances at how Cincy is doing to see if the Cubs can draw closer. And that's just ridiculous considering how laughably bad the Cubs have been.

    I would give Z at least Kerry Wood 04-06 money to stay around. He is, other than perhaps Lee, the single most indispensable member of this team.

    For once I'm not so sure Dusty is wrong. In an ideal universe Murton and Pagan would play as much as possible but Jones is the rightfielder and you can't just tell him to sit on the bench for long periods of time to give the kids more PT. Maybe you can sit him more in September, but I don't think there's any more Dusty can do.

    In any fair universe Mark Prior would've been the better pick for now, for soon and for later. But since we're the Cubs and since Dusty is our manager, Prior is just not going to be the same, at least not for a long time.

    I still think Murton is too good to abandon, but unless the Cubs have a great offense elsewhere, giving him a starting job is sketchy. That's why Murton and Pagan should both be playing as much as possible these last two months - to figure out what we want to do in 2007.

    ND beat MSU in 2004. The streak you're referring to is 5 straight MSU wins at Notre Dame, which you won't see whether it will continue until 2007.
