  1. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA now that's a funny thought - Hendry deciding to lay down the law...
  2. Umm, so we can rule out him as the interim manager then?
  3. QFFT Sir, you have blown my mind
  4. QFT means "quoted for truth"
  5. Sosa is, at worst, #2. You could definitely make a case for Banks's 512 homers, a lot of which were in the second dead ball era, being superior to Sammy's total, but he tops everyone else. Ridiculous.
  6. This is absurd. Jerome and any one of the young guys other than Ryu or perhaps Hill that have started this year should trump that.
  7. The Police by an eyelash
  8. Finally, a matchup I'm informed enough to vote on. (Queen's the pick)
  9. Barrett batting 3rd in front of Lee, Ramirez, then Jones plz
  10. Unless he sneezes Or moves. Or breathes. Or pretty much attempts to leave his plastic bubble in any way.
  11. Maybe you're just comparing it the Cubs ability to turn perfectly good lemons into rotten ones? That's not intended to be a slam, but when's the last time the Cubs saw improvement from players they've signed? And in all fairness, the Cards have definitely had their share of bad signings. People seem to remember the drastic turnarounds, but there are none to be seen this season. Jones, Barrett, Lee, Walker (the 04-05 versions), Ramirez, Rusch (in 2004), Neifi (late 2004-early 2005). And that's all in the last two and a half seasons. The Cubs' problem is that they don't know when to let go and quit while they're ahead, while STL does.
  12. Why don't we ship Aramis out for Bill Mueller too? Speed and defense baby!!!!111
  13. Of course teams would try to trade for Big Z. But no one in this organization would dump him.
  14. That's probably not true--or even close--but I'm way too lazy to actually look it up. Boston 2004 had Cabrera and Mientkewicz but everyone else was average or worse defensively
  15. Yeah, but how many of you can say you remember your team being created?
  16. That's ludicrous. Another team's pitchers pitching a bunch of innings and actually suffering effects from it? Come on.
  17. Why is it ludicrous to expect that? They have upgraded on defense from last year and haven't lost a single starter on that side of the ball. No one is aging or in decline. The Bears have the easiest schedule in the NFL and they have improved their offense with the addition of Griese (In the event that Grossman breaks or bombs). They have upgraded their special teams and return games. 9 games? That's absurd and based on the fact that you are a massive Panthers homer. What the hell does me liking the Panthers have to do with the Bears? Are they fierce rivals now and no one told me? And just because there are a lot of Bears homers on this site doesn't mean it's not possible that you are not being homers too.
  18. Solid. A better version of Othella Harrington. Very nice work once again by Pax.
  19. If Hendry doesn't fire someone tomorrow, the whole management team should be sent packing. He doesn't even necessarily have to fire Dusty right now. But he has to fire SOMEONE.
  20. I root for Z - because he's Z Lee - still hoping he'll pick it back up by season's end Barrett - having the best year of his life and shows some FIRE! and INTENSITY! (to borrow from cheapseats) Eyre - he's good Howry - he's good too Jones - strangely fun to watch and seems like a pretty nice guy despite some things that have happened this year Cedeno - young un Murton - young un and to a lesser extent Dempster, Marshall, Marmol, (insert young pitcher the Cubs have ignored here)
  21. It appears Todd knows he's gone. He probably already did. I'll miss him.
  22. The Bears defense simply will not be as good as last year. It would be ludicrous to expect that. And their offense is not better enough to make up for the fall off the defense will take. I think they will win the division off defense but I'd be shocked if they won more than 9 games.
  23. I think giving up 2 GS's and 11 runs in one inning on national TV followed by a fan revolt would qualify as semi-supernatural...if not unexpected.
