  1. And yet they'll look like a completely different team when Notre Dame rolls in on 9/23. I'm sure they will. The two things that have mystified me most about Notre Dame football in the last decade are how Lloyd Carr hasn't been able to beat ND consistently when he had so much more talent for the bulk of that time, and how Michigan State has dominated ND despite not having as much talent in the bulk of that time.
  2. Wasn't this the same guy that after he was dealt to the Cubs, said he prefer the NL style of ball over the AL? So, isn't kind of odd that he would initiate a trade to an AL team? Wants to play for a contender + no NL contenders have an opening at 1B = Nevin taking what he can get.
  3. That leaves Aramis, Jacque, Z and Murton as people on this team who have actually contributed something this season who have not gone on the DL.
  4. I love Lou Holtz to death, but watching him and Mark May debate on television is sort of like watching John Kruk and Steve Phillips debate on Baseball Tonight.
  5. I can honestly say that most ND fans hate ESPN. I hate ESPN. Doesn't have anything to do with the Irish, but I do. Anyways. 2 hours, 20 minutes. WE ARE! PENN STATE dunno why you did that, but hey, I'll respond.... We are. ND. Was the idea, but Adam stood me up on it. Haha.
  6. One year, I think 2003 or 2004, we beat the Giants 4 out of 6, and the 2 losses were Schmidt games where he did something like 17 IP and 1 run. It was unbelievable.
  7. When no one else could tackle in the first half, he was all over the field knocking people over. I <3 Zibby. As for the helmet to helmet, I heard not a whimper out of Musburger, May and Corso, who all hate Notre Dame, about it. Reputation call perhaps, but still illegal. You have to be kidding me that Musberger hates Notre Dame. He spent the entire first half talking about how Georgia Tech better put up more points, because Notre Dame would come out of its funk in a big way soon. No credit to the tech defense whatsoever. The man has a man-love for all things Big Ten, especially Michigan and O$U. To go the other way with what you said, you could say that Brent criticizing ND's play was ridiculous because GT had been so good, which he was ignoring in his behest to talk about how ND looked bad.
  8. I thought it was him to was really confident about U of I covering 30 and betting so? No he is an ND fan. I don't know where the U of I thing came from. Him going to school there? You and your technicalities. :P

  11. Exactly. We must have been watching different games. In any case the thing that clinched that flag was the fact that it was a quarterback getting helmet-to-helmeted. Name the last time that happened to any quarterback (even if he was running the ball) without a flag and I'll buy your Mizzou season tickets for you next year.
  12. No kidding. So you're allowed to go helmet to helmet out of bounds against everyone else? Come on. I know most of you hate ND but geez. Georgia Tech is a lot better than I realized. And so is the ND defense. Brady Quinn looked pretty solid in the 2nd half once he got some protection and Darius Walker was really good. Carl Gioia better have played his last game as ND kicker. Scary Saturday.
  13. This just in: Montana State 19, Colorado 10. Final. I'm not kidding.
  14. 160 rushing, 114 receiving. Against Ohio State. I shudder to think of when Ball State plays him. I believe he ran for nearly 300 yards against us my freshman year in the game NIU won 38-31 in OT.
  15. He's 7 for his last 10. I don't care if he happened to get picked off or caught stealing twice in a week and a half.

  17. . The UT/UNT game is on channel 3 here and the Utah/UCLA game will be on CSNC this evening. I just heard this a few days ago. Sounds pretty exciting.
  18. Once again, Michigan takes 2 1/2 quarters off, looks awful in that time, then turn it on late and wins by a good margin. They've made it an art form against their crappy nonconference schedule over the last few years. Meanwhile, with 2 minutes to go in East Lansing, MSU only leads Idaho 24-17.
  19. Whoever called that Theriot would sit after the last two games he's had, come out and take a bow. Oh wait, that was everyone.
  20. I'm quite unsurprised to see my lack of concern about Michigan validated.
  21. I never saw the 'cloubhouse cancer' in Nevin. He seemed like a very genuine guy who loved playing here, and it's too bad that he had to go.
  22. I don't see any of those downgrades you talked about. And UCLA lost their entire offense from last year, there is no way ND loses to them.
  23. Maddux used to be so dominant that he could beat other teams by himself and didn't need a solid defense to win games, only a competent one. Now he needs a very good defense because he can't manipulate batters into hitting little ground balls anymore.
  24. Notre Dame 38, Georgia Tech 20. Book it.
