  1. Considering all the crap Texas players have been busted for lately, I'm starting to wonder if Texa$ deserves a place alongside O$U and F$U in the lexicon.
  2. I see my man Knipp had a pick last week. Let me know how he looks out there. Knipp looked very good last week. I didn't see the INT, but he had a solid tackle near the goal line late in the first quarter and also did well on special teams coverage. Brady Hoke loves to play talented young guys and Knipp looks to be one of them.
  3. I seem to be the only one I know who thinks Ball State stands a chance against IU. The Hoosiers have more talent, but BSU has the athletes to compete (BJ Hill, Darius Hill, Dante Love, Nate Davis, Louis Johnson) offensively. I think this one will be a shootout and the Hoosiers will probably win by 10-14 points, but Ball State is a very good team and I wouldn't be surprised at all to see a Cardinals victory.
  4. I hope so. I'm much more worried about ND beating Penn State than I am Michigan, but the best thing that could've happened to this team was being humbled somewhat against GT. I expect a well-played close game that ND wins by 7 or 10 points.
  5. Well, so much for "we robbed the Giants in that Hawkins deal".
  6. The coaches already had Texas at 2. They dropped ND from 3 to 5, with Auburn and USC leapfrogging them instead of Texas and USC in the AP poll.
  7. But that was a team that should have won 95 games. And in fairness to Jim, we didn't know Wood and Prior were walking disasters yet going into 2004.
  8. Here we go! As always, all times are Eastern and * means GamePlan. Do they have the week off? Edit because I can't keep straight that Flames goes to college and Roast doesn't.
  9. You can if they're the defending national champs and had a no contest with a sun belt team. Calling a team without last year's QB or RB the "defending" national champs is kind of a contradiction in terms though.
  10. They are out per ESPN.com. 1. OSU 2. Texas 3. USC t-4. ND t-4. Auburn 6. WVU 7. Florida 8. LSU 9. FSU 10. Michigan
  11. ND drops to No. 4 behind Texas and USC. Texas apparently deserved to move up after playing so well against North Texas. Not that ND didn't deserve to fall, but you can't drop them below a team that played a Sun Belt team at home.
  12. Please tell me he didn't say that. . . No way even Morgan could say something that goofy....tell me it ain't so Joe! No, it's a joke. :)

  14. Agreed. They should (but they won't) cut their losses with the Alex Smith Experiment after this disastrous season.
  15. A part of me wants Z to have some kind of herniated disc, just whatever can spare him from more Dusty abuse this year. Then when the new management team comes in they can teach Z how not to walk people and he won't have to throw 100 pitches to get to 6 every time.
  16. Wait, that's SERIOUSLY the injury? Oh you've gotta be kidding.
  17. It's official, every decent Cubs player of the last two seasons have gone on the DL. (Because we all know Z is seriously injured, this team wouldn't be the Cubs otherwise)
  18. This is quickly becoming a legendary thread (in a bad way) in NSBB history and we're not even through 40 posts yet.
  19. Maris doesn't hold any records. /technicality police
  20. I like Rivers and think he could have a big season, but you are probably better off making the deal as Bulger (or anyone else lining up for the Rams) is a proven fantasy commodity.
  21. All times Eastern. Thursday Sep. 7 - 8:30 pm, NBC --------------------- Miami at Pittsburgh Sunday Sep. 10 at 1 pm --------------------- Atlanta at Carolina Baltimore at Tampa Bay Buffalo at New England Cincinnati at Kansas City Denver at St. Louis New Orleans at Cleveland NY Jets at Tennessee Philadelphia at Houston Seattle at Detroit Sunday at 4 pm --------------------- Dallas at Jacksonville San Francisco at Arizona Sunday Night Football, 8 pm, NBC --------------------- Indianapolis at NY Giants Monday Night Football, ESPN --------------------- Minnesota at Washington (7 pm) San Diego at Oakland (10 pm)
  22. I don't see any of those downgrades you talked about. And UCLA lost their entire offense from last year, there is no way ND loses to them. So you really think Darius Walker = LenDale White + Reggie Bush? Because that is just ludicrous. I would also give 2005 USC an advantage at WR if you factor in Reggie Bush lining up there 10-15 times a game. Quinn would be a slight downgrade because he doesn't have a Heisman like Leinart did going into last year. Oh, thanks for clearing up his post for me. I thought he was comparing 2006 ND to 2005 ND. That makes much more sense now. #-o
