  1. Holy crap, Grady's voice sounds EXACTLY like Milton's from Office Space
  2. Auditioning for Conference USA?
  3. I'm guessing that means there are 3 unique streaks longer than theirs, not just 3 teams with longer streaks. Cause if it's the latter, well I just have no faith in statistics anymore. Why would that be? There are only 11 teams left that are undefeated this season. It is not unlikely that only 4 of them finished last season winning their last few games as well to have a longer current winning streak. I think the streak that TCU had broken last week was only 13 games or something, so I'd tend to think that could be right. Yeah, I remember after TCU lost I checked to see who had the longest and in calculating was surprised how many teams had streaks broken by bowl games. FTR, OSU is first with 12 in a row, then WVU with 11, and Florida with 7. Doesn't Texas have a longer winning streak than OSU? Texas lost to OSU on September 9th. So, doubtful.

  5. That's probably fair. Juan played great once the calendar hit June. I find it strange that with all our offensive guys failing to catch fire until the summertime (Juan, Aramis, to a lesser extent Barrett and Murton), our best stretch of baseball came at the start of the season.
  6. Is there any rational explanation for Jeff Weaver throwing 5 shutout innings in the playoffs after the season he's had?
  7. I don't see how the NFL isn't intense. If you're capable of watching a 162 game MLB season when the best teams lose 60 times, I think you can find the intensity after a team loses a game. Homefield advantage is still important. And besides, there's only about 2 intense games per team in college, the rest are cakewalks. SEC teams don't have 2 intense games a year. Neither do Big Ten teams, or really most other conference teams, period. Choc Milk used Texas as an example, but it's rare you see a team just totally outclassing everyone in its own conference. Hell, ND's played 5 games this year, and I'd say four of them (all but Purdue) were intense, either because of the opponent or because of what happened in the game. However, I will grant that my feelings are probably colored by the fact that I never get to watch Carolina on TV, while I can watch every ND game.
  8. This rooftop thing is getting way overblown. If hundreds of people were making a handsome profit on a product you owned, and you weren't seeing a cent of it, you'd do something, too, and you'd be foolish if you didn't.
  9. How the Eff did a student radio station land a Bruce Miles interview? I thought it was a big coup when we got an interview from the NAIA transfer basketball player coming here this season back in April. Nice going.
  10. Jon Miller tends to favor the home team in his broadcasts no matter who it is. I actually like that about him.
  11. FWIW, there's another one with a Red Sox fan hiding in a bathroom who gets coaxed out to root against the Yankees. Lasorda seems like a caricature in all those ads.
  12. I think we'd all prefer having a guy who can put up Aramis numbers who hustles all the time over Aramis numbers and the occasional flake, but the number of 3rd basemen who put up Aramis numbers can be counted on one hand, and none of the others are coming here. Play with the hand you're dealt.
  13. I prefer having a lot more intensity involved, which is why I like college more, I think. Carolina started 0-2 this season. In college, that's disastrous, but in the pros, it's easy to rebound from if you've got the talent. As a for instance, Notre Dame went into the Stanford game last year needing a win to seal a BCS berth. They were 8-2 at the time, came out flat, and Stanford nearly beat them. In the NFL, that would've meant nothing, but since it was college, it was the difference between the Fiesta and Gator bowls, which is tremendous. Much more intense, and that's the way I like it.
  14. Let's see if they can top getting two guys thrown out at home within 5 seconds of each other. That's what I meant. I'm stupid.
  15. Well let's see if the Dodgers can top getting two guys thrown out at the plate in the same game.
  16. Tigers on the board via a Marcus Thames RBI single :D
  17. Bases loaded, 2 out, A-Rod coming up in a playoff game...I smell a routine grounder to short.
  18. Based on the way Brenly hammered Aramis for not hustling most of this season, I'd even say that's doubtful.
  19. TBA's updated. Ball State has a must-win this week. Buffalo is an abysmal team (they beat TEMPLE 9 to 3), and since a win would move the Cards to 2-1 in the MAC, they wouldn't necessarily be dead yet. With our defense (which is now giving up 497 yards a game), nothing is a gimme though. Side note: The game also features the last two qualified QBs not to throw an interception this season: Buffalo's Drew Willy (118 throws) and BSU's Nate Davis (77 throws). Davis is going to be incredible in the next couple of years.
  20. I'm pretty sure it's 130. that's correct Even so, I'm sure he would've surpassed the days cutoff by now like Cedeno and Murton did last year.
  21. The Sports Guy wrote: The Yankees cheat. I'm telling you. Things like this make him look less ridiculous.
  22. I saw that too. I saw the 11 before he threw it though. It was a reminder. Some things just don't change.
  23. With Quinn not looking quite up to his 2005 level and Troy Smith not putting up especially gaudy numbers, I'd cast my Heisman vote for Garrett Wolfe right now. He's torn through us for over 600 yards in 2 games here in Muncie, so I know of what I speak.
