  1. This is something that Cuse said in last weeks thread, but i wanted to bring the discussion over here. This is one of my main problems with the polling system. Earlier in the season, Florida's wins over Auburn, Tennessee and LSU looked really, impressive (not that they still arent quality wins, just some of the shine has been taken off.) Anyway, those wins look great, so Florida is highly ranked. Now, those teams lose a few more games, and the wins don't look as good. But what can you do if Florida doesn't lose? Florida's ranking is based on the strength of those wins, and they won't fall in the rankings unless they lose, no matter if Auburn, Tennessee and LSU lose every remaining game. Now, I'm not singling out Florida here, just using them as an example. ND in 2005 is probably the most blatant example of this, as they beat three Top 25 teams in the first 5 weeks of the season and none of them (save 7-5 Michigan) ended up being worth a crap.
  2. Hahahahahaha. Other than Wisco though, I do think ND is the best bet. USC will be very tough especially in the Coliseum, but they haven't looked all that scary since the opening game. Plus Charlie has effectively had since the UCLA game to gameplan for USC since ND hasn't really played anyone since then.
  3. Fearless prediction: Michigan will beat Ohio State, and it won't be all that close.
  4. I would guess the former. I can't possibly believe Aramis would've taken it to free agency, and then signed such a discounted deal. That would've topped any hometown discount I would have guessed at.
  5. Well, Hendry's saved his own ass. For now. If it's really a 5/70 deal, he actually deserves some major kudos. That's fantastically below market value.
  6. This and the other Ramirez thread seem to have been for naught. Ramirez signed. :D

  8. I love the polls. Two weeks ago Louisville crushed WV and now they're behind them in the polls. I'm not surprised or annoyed that Arkansas jumped ND in the AP poll. At least they have a legitimate reason unlike the last two weeks of teams that don't play jumping the Irish.
  9. -Where was Lee April and September of 2004? -Manny Ramirez and Alex Rodriguez are both slow, too. Would you pass on them? -Aramis had the best defensive season of any NL 3B this season. -God forbid someone jog out a fly ball. It negates all their skill and talent. It matters when Ramirez jogs out a fly ball, and then the outfielder miss plays the ball, but still manages to throw out Ramirez at 2b. A-Rod is not a slow runner. A-Rod will also give you 22SB a year. I dont think you can compare 2 future hall of famers to Aramis. Yes, Aramis is a good player, but he is not a guy who deserves 117 million a year in my opinion. I would argue that there's not a single human being on this earth that deserves that much a year.
  10. Ok, if that rumor is true I'm now just as pissed off at Kinzer/Aramis as I am at Hendry.
  11. All of which would likely beat all the top three Big East teams pretty easily (maybe Auburn wouldn't since they're so inconsistent). Seriously, man, I like the Big East too, but you're getting a tad carried away.
  12. I can say with some confidence that this is the post of the offseason.
  13. I got the drunkest I've ever been in my life tonight (not much) and it didn't even have to do with Aramis. And it felt good, lemme tell ya. This thread, all circumstances aside, is among the most hilarious on NSBB I've ever seen.
  14. 1. OSU 2. Michigan 3. Florida 4. Rutgers (yes, Rutgers) 5. USC 6. Arkansas 7. Notre Dame 8. Auburn 9. Louisville 10. Wisconsin I just really don't think Texas is very good.
  15. Two games of the last seven (going back to the playoffs) for the Bulls that someone has tackled one of our best players. But Noc is ok, and the Bulls win.
  16. Weird how Michigan beat Notre Dame, yet somehow if they have both have one loss people think ND deserves to play in the national championship game over Michigan. Once again the BCS makes no sense I don't think there's a single ND fan in the world that thinks ND would deserve it, but it looks like they'd probably get to. ND will be No. 6 next week unless Rutgers or Arkansas passes them in the BCS, No. 5 if KSU holds on. And I don't see OSU/Michigan loser staying high enough to be ahead of ND in that scenario. 42-28.
  17. Wow.
  18. TOUCHDOWN KSU 35-21
  19. TEXAS FUMBLES AGAIN AND KSU RECOVERS
  20. Texas fumbles, KSU recovers and races 3 plays into the Texas endzone!!!!
  21. If he's not the system has absolutely no merit whatsoever.
  22. Oops. Texas blocks a punt and scores on the next play. 21-21.
