  1. I'm fairly certain that's what happens.
  2. Hughes is the best in the biz. :)
  3. Where's the Nocioni that was becoming a star at the end of last year? Where the heck is Ben G? The MVP of this team right now is Deng.
  4. I wanted to watch this, but I'm starting to be glad I forgot to.
  5. If we can beat Kent State and finish 5-7 (5-3) that'd be a nice start heading into 07, when almost all our starters will be back. Our non-conference schedule as it stands now includes @Nebraska, @Navy, vs Army and an unknown fourth game (originally @WV, but rumor has it that they are trying to switch it to a home game with Illinois). A 2-2 nonconference record isn't out of the question, and then BSU will have the best returning team in the MAC (save possibly CMU, who will visit Muncie). So we'll see.
  6. Makes NIU's loss against Toledo look that much worse, no offense ndi. Can't wait to see CMU absolutely own NIU on Friday... Or does it make your win over BSU in Muncie look that much better?
  7. Wow! I feel a lot less bad about ND losing to Butler now. Ball State plays both Butler and IU in the month of December, so that should be interesting. If we could get one of those it'd be HUGE (both are on the road). The Cards' next opponent (Prairie View A&M) beat some team that has no link on Sportsline.com called the Southwest Assembly of God by four points tonight, so I figure BSU will go 2-0.
  8. Looks like we are getting Izturis and Derosa next year up the middle. 2007 is over before it even had a chance to begin. Nonsense. That is silly. Why does it end anything? Exacly, the Cubs can still sign two more A/B free agents and, for what it's worth, ESPN AM 1000 is reporting that the Cubs have been talking to the Indians about acquiring Lee or Westbrook for bullpen arms so a trade may be in the works as well. Eyre/Ohman, one of our young arms, and somebody else maybe?
  9. Cards win thanks to Toledo dropping a 4th-down pass, 20-17. Really nice win for a team that has had no success at all at the Glass Bowl in recent years.
  10. Question: Is it "nipp" or "kuh-nipp"? I've heard both. Brian Jackson misses his first FG since September 9th when he slips on his plant foot, so the game is still tied 17-17.
  11. ND beats Lafayette 92-60. I'm so pissed off that they blew a chance to make their non-con SOS go up by losing yesterday (would've played IU). On the bright side, Luke Harangody is a freaking stud as a true frosh. 18 points and 5 boards. I give it till mid-December before he takes Luke Zeller's job (what a bust he's been).
  12. Thank you, and ndistops. Oh yeah, and ndistops, how about that BSU/ Michigan game. I was way off on that one prediction something like 56-3. That was pretty awesome. I was there, best 30 bucks I ever spent in my life just to hear 109,200-some people silent. :D
  13. TT would've very much enjoyed the smackdown Alex Knipp just laid on a Toledo receiver to force a drop there :D BSU up 17-14 early in the 4th, and they're doing it with a running game and a defense, two of the weakest points of the team all year.
  14. I have no idea myself, but I do know that 100 is average for both, and that it takes time period, park factors, etc. into account. ops = on base % + slugging% era = (earned runs/innings pitched) x 9 No, we know that. He was asking about OPS+ and ERA+.
  15. I have no idea myself, but I do know that 100 is average for both, and that it takes time period, park factors, etc. into account.
  16. Webb should have won. Zambrano should have finished 2nd. oswalt had more IP, a lower ERA, a better k/bb, a better DERA, a much higher vorp (72-54), a better whip, allowed fewer home runs, and even had a better g/f ratio than zambrano. carpenter had more IP, a lower ERA, a better k/bb, a better DERA, a significantly higher vorp (68-54), a better whip, and even had a better g/f ratio than zambrano. carlos did allow one fewer home run though. arroyo and maybe even smoltz were better than carlos this season too, but it's closer there, especially with smoltz. Uh... Umm... Guess you're right. *runs away in tears* :D
  17. Brady Hoke has gone for it on 4th down twice in this game so far - a pitch play that has gotten stopped for a loss almost every single time Ball State has run it this year (and got stopped again that time), and a fake punt that was actually a good call but for Chris Miller overthrowing a wide-open Brad Wilson on the throw.
  18. I'm no huge fan of this signing, but there is no way paying Ray Durham more money, at an older age, also coming off a career year, was any better an idea.
  19. Wisconsin hasn't beat a team with less than 4 losses all year. You can only play the teams on your schedule. Their BCS ranking would normally qualify for a BCS game. The BCS takes SoS into account. I don't know what else to tell you. Yes, the BCS does take SoS into account, and that's partly why Wisconsin is well behind the one-loss teams with better schedules.
  20. Webb should have won. Zambrano should have finished 2nd.
  21. Zambrano didn't finish in the top four, which is an absolute joke. 1. Webb 2. Hoffman 3. Carp 4. Oswalt http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/baseball/mlb/wires/11/14/2010.ap.bbn.nl.cy.young.0205/
  22. I stick with the shirts. I have Ramirez, Zambrano, DLee and Barrett shirts. Also a Nomar, but that one doesn't see much action anymore.
  23. For now you are correct, but there are still three more weekends left in the season, so who knows if anyone will still deserve a shot then?
  24. Pierre's a B. Someone posted the rankings in this thread earlier. I don't know how he's a B...you'd think the antiquated baseball system would put the league leader in hits at an A even if he had the season Pierre had.
  25. Depends on your definition of crushed, but I don't see ND getting crushed by either Michigan or OSU. I think they'd even make a game of it against Michigan. Problem is, ND was already crushed by Michigan this year and was crushed by OSU at the end of last year. Notre Dame is a horribly flawed team. Their defense isn't that good and they can't run the ball effectively to save their lives. I'm not saying ND would get crushed if they faced OSU or UM again but I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they did. OSU got like half their yards on four plays and spotty officiating on a fumble returned for a game-tying TD changed the whole game. Ohio State outplayed ND, but this "crushed" rhetoric needs to stop.
