Actually, the loss should prevent them from going to a BCS bowl, but it won't. If anything should keep ND out, it should be their pasting at the hands of USC, not today's game. well, its the combination of both events in my mind. getting pasted by a great team is one thing - getting pasted by a mediocre team is another. Though I am not convinced USC is much better than Notre Dame anyway. Wait just a second, now a 10-win USC team that hasn't lost at home and played the toughest schedule of anyone worth talking about, is MEDIOCRE? Geez, I used to be offended if ND was described that way, but if USC is mediocre, then it's a compliment.

Ohio State is the only team in the country that really has a great team in every facet of the game. This really is not a good year for "strong" teams.
