    Hahahahaha, this is the most embarrassingly bad combined offensive performance by two teams I've seen since...the Bears-Pats game. C'mon Bears, if you turn this over again I'm just going to be unhappy.

    didn't hurt the Houston Astros of the mid 90's. Cubs hitters were significantly better v. righthanders last year anyway. hitting lefties was a big problem, a fact that more left handed hitters would not address. It is still not a good idea. Specially with all the right-handed closers in the league. You need some threat from the left side of the plate. Lefty power is not available for any reasonable price this offseason. The Cubs have to play the hand they're dealt.

    Why am I not surprised that Lou partially credited the fact that USC played ND last week while UCLA had a week off for the upset? (Although while at ND, Lou was nearly unstoppable following a bye week, so maybe he knows something I don't.)

    Mediocre teams don't go 10-2 Bosie State? Wisconsin? Anyway, this is a silly argument. If you think USC is a great team more power to you. We won't get to see Ohio State embarass them so you can keep believing it. However, we might get to see them play Michigan. USC pounded - pounded - two good teams in ND and Arkansas and another pretty decent one in Cal. They have more wins over ranked teams than anyone in the nation. They played bad twice this year and got burned for it. But they're a damn good team. Wasn't Arkansas missing their best player when they played them though? McFadden wasn't at full health and their QB in that game hasn't taken any snaps since, this is true. But their defense was at full strength and gave up 50 points. I doubt the added offense could overcome that.

    I'm sure Ron Franklin and Co. love that they get to do games in the Hawaiian shirts. When did that start anyway? Everyone who does games always looks professional - unless they're in Hawaii for any reason, then they get to wear Hawaiian shirts and stuff.

    Actually I need to correct something. USC as Pac-10 champ is locked into the Rose Bowl, so the Rose's at-large pick to replace OSU would actually be either LSU or Michigan. That 2nd pick I put in there was erroneous.

    I forgot how they pick the teams again. Do they pick by bowls 2 at a time or does each bowl get one pick? The Rose will get the 1st pick since they lost OSU. They'll pick USC. If Florida goes, the Sugar picks next, and they'd take ND (we assume again). If not, then no one has a "special" pick. The Sugar has the 1st at-large pick because it rotates each year. They would take ND (if Florida does not go, to set up the ND/Florida matchup), or they would take LSU (if Florida goes in which case they'd already have picked ND, setting up an ND/LSU matchup). The Rose has the 2nd pick, and would take Michigan. After that it's much less confusing. The Orange would pick Louisville to face Wake (who is locked into the Orange as ACC champ). The Fiesta has the last pick and will take Boise State to play Oklahoma (who is locked into the Fiesta as Big 12 champs). Hope I didn't make it too confusing. Edit to fix something, I think.

    So the BCS now looks like: NC - OSU vs Michigan OR Florida Rose - USC vs LSU OR Michigan Sugar - Florida OR LSU vs Notre Dame Orange - Wake Forest vs Louisville Fiesta - Oklahoma vs Boise State If Florida goes to the title game, LSU goes to the Sugar and Michigan to the Rose. If Michigan goes, Florida slides to the Sugar and LSU plays in the Rose. Pretty simple.

    More facts....thanks. JD Power and associates says the Big East is junk. Wow! Your "facts" are simply opinions. Yet you can't see it. Like I said, start beating the best and you'll get your due. Until then, nope. Ball State says hello. At least they had the guts to actually schedule a decent game. Yeah, that 3-9 team is a tough team. I think he means Ball State did. And we're 5-7 thank you very much. :-P
