  1. I want Garnett in the worst possible way, but we'd be giving up way too much in that deal. Yup, I'd pull the first round pick away for either Thomas or Deng. I am really a big fan of what Deng has done so far this year, and Thomas pretty much has shown that hes going to be a monster in 1-2 years. Apparently he's been talking to Scottie Pippen. If a young Bulls forward needs anyone to talk to Pippen's about as good as it could get.
  2. Stay away.
  3. Doesn't get injured, has a live arm. A little old for his levels, but there's a chance he could be decent, I guess. Good trade regardless.
  4. I don't know of Jason Hirsch, just how good is he?
  5. This can't work. I'm used to having pinch-hitters that are not any better of hitters than the pitchers they're hitting for. The idea of subbing out a pitcher for a decent hitter is just laughable. Seriously though, good signing.
  6. No mention of Murt makes ndistops a sad boy
  7. Bulls rule all. First quarter tonight: Gordon 17, Sixers 16. Gordon played 6 minutes in the 1st.
  8. 65-41 and it wasn't even that close. The Dawgs are legit. I was there. Hinkle's quite a place. BSU has a lot of growing up left to do. ND played them better than anyone else has so far, BTW. Tomorrow the Irish host 4th-ranked Alabama. A win would be unreal.
  9. Do we really expect someone in the organization to say, "Jones wants out." Bruce isn't in the organization and the next time he doesn't report something just to keep up a player's trade value will likely be the first.
  10. Well, last time we outbid the Royals for someone it turned out all right... (Jacque) *Grasping for straws*
  11. Saw that. Embarrassed.
  12. Up about four posts. (Yes, I did that on purpose)
  13. In my opinion, college football has completely devalued the postseason, and has made everyting entirely too opinion based. At least in the NFL, the best teams prove they're the best on the field. I hate how some teams get into bowl games over others simply because they'd bring in more money. Regardless whether they're better or not, they get that spot. Take the human polls out of it completely. Coaches, AP, whatever. This is a valid point, but it has actually never happened that I can recall in the BCS. In 2005, ND and Ohio State got BCS bids not because they'd bring in more money (although they did), but because both were in the BCS top 6, giving them automatic bids. This year, West Virginia was the only alternative to ND for the final at-large spot, and even a horribly biased observer would admit that ND has earned that right more than WV. Granted, I haven't paid much attention to the BCS selection process in non-ND years, but I don't remember hearing that flap in previous years either.
  14. I seriously wonder what post-2004 Rusch would've gotten in this market.
  15. I'm not so sure about that move. But the Sox can afford it so why not, I guess.
  16. Jason Whitlock was an extremely horrible reporter who used to write for Page 2 on ESPN.com. He's basically a fatter version of Scoop Jackson. And of course, he hates Scoop Jackson. Looking in the mirror can get ugly from time to time.
  17. And ND can play a weak schedule whenever they want and get in the BCS. edit - or they can play what looks to be a good schedule and turns out to be weak (like last year, when two teams they played were ranked by the end of the season). The weak schedule can work in ND's favor just as much as it can in a conference team's favor. These last two years have been giant anomalies. Davieham combined to play similar schedules in their tenures and they were consistently among the toughest in the country. Although once again, Sagarin rates ND's schedule 19th toughest, 5th-toughest among ranked teams, so I don't know why we continue to bring this up.
  18. ND can't be overrated because everyone is constantly talking about how overrated they are. They are the least taken-seriously top-15 team in the country including Boise State. I'm not sure how anyone can think there is any real respect for ND right now nationwide because there isn't.
  19. Let's hope he stays underrated long enough to sign a small contract with us next year. He is so good.
  20. We've heard rumor after rumor about this and every time it has been debunked and fervently so by a more reputable source. The Sox aren't getting ARod, I can make a good guess of that.
  21. I like the deal. I'd love Hawpe but we need pitching anyway. Bring on Jennings if true.
  22. Why? Do you really think the difference between USC/LSU and Michigan/Florida is so great that they would be unworthy of a championship even if they won a playoff(and in turn beat at least 3 top 10 teams)? Maybe, maybe not. But every other sport already has devalued the regular season to the point of near-irrelevance, especially in the NBA and NHL and pretty close to it in the NFL. Would OSU/Michigan have been nearly as exciting if both teams knew they would get a shot at the championship anyway via a playoff? Probably not.
  23. At least they'll still make the playoffs.* * - I think.
