  1. I'm going to be working Saturday night and Sunday afternoon, so I won't be able to keep track of Carolina's playoff fate (needing a Giants loss Sat night followed by a Packers loss and a win on Sunday). Praying for a miracle.
  2. The Packers are vying for a playoff spot. Jacksonville/KC features two teams are going for a playoff spot. And there are many other games where one team is going for a playoff spot, and their opponent might actually leave the starters in well into the 2nd half.
  3. Packers/Bears moved to SNF. My mind is boggled. Surely they could've found two teams vying for a playoff spot?
  4. ND bumps up to 19 in the AP, 24 in the coaches. :)
  5. Bump since the games are approaching

    BCS Bowl Thread

Aw, crap! I thought I posted it already. Now working. ETA: Never mind. I did post it, it's on page 2 of Social.
  7. So that you can beat us in the second round again? Geez, I dunno... BTW, why is it very unlikely that the Bears with their starters at least playing a quarter or two can beat the Packers, who truely aren't very good? Well, it's not just that the Bears will be playing their reserves, it also has a lot to do with that they have nothing to play for, while Green Bay has everything to play for.
  8. Props to the Colts for blowing their first-round bye against the Texans today. Would anyone be even remotely surprised if they lost to Cincy/Jets/Titans/Chiefs in the first round?
  9. I'm not absolutely positive of this, but I'm pretty sure the following gets the Panthers in as the 6 seed and a date with Dallas or New Orleans in the wildcard round: Giants lose to Skins on Saturday (possible, not likely) Packers lose to Bears' reserves on Sunday (very unlikely) Panthers beat Saints on the road on Sunday (possible if Delhomme starts, highly unlikely if Weinke does) Hey Bears, you mind helping us out?
  10. Saturday, Dec. 30 at 8 pm (NFL Network) ----------------------------- NY Giants (7-8) at Washington (5-10) Sunday, Dec. 31 at 1 pm ---------------------------- Carolina (7-8) at New Orleans (10-5) Cleveland (4-11) at Houston (5-10) Detroit (2-13) at Dallas (9-6) Jacksonville (8-7) at Kansas City (8-7) New England (11-4) at Tennessee (8-7) Oakland (2-13) at NY Jets (9-6) Pittsburgh (7-8) at Cincinnati (8-7) Seattle (8-7) at Tampa Bay (4-11) St. Louis (7-8) at Minnesota (6-9) Sunday, Dec. 31 at 4 pm ---------------------------- Arizona (5-10) at San Diego (13-2) San Francisco (6-9) at Denver (9-6) Atlanta (7-8) at Philadelphia (9-6) Buffalo (7-8) at Baltimore (12-3) Miami (6-9) at Indianapolis (11-4)
  11. Here it is, the long-awaited BCS thread! We have three games guaranteed to cause rampant discussion here - one because it's a great matchup, one because ND is involved, and one is, obviously, the national title game. The other two...well... Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA - 1/1, 5 pm (ABC) (8) USC vs. (3) Michigan Tostitos Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, AZ - 1/1, 8 pm (FOX) (9) Boise State vs. (7) Oklahoma FedEx Orange Bowl in Miami, FL - 1/2, 8 pm (FOX) (5) Louisville vs. (15) Wake Forest Allstate Sugar Bowl in New Orleans, LA - 1/3, 8 pm (FOX) (11) Notre Dame vs. (4) LSU BCS National Championship Game in Glendale, AZ - 1/8, 8 pm (FOX) (2) Florida vs. (1) Ohio State
  12. Weinke threw seven passes. How the hell did we win this thing?
  13. *wondering if CAR-NO next week will be moved to Sunday night*
  14. INCOMPLETE! Panthers win!!! Now - with the Giants losing - we just need them to lose again next week to the Skins, and the Packers to lose to the Bears reserves, and to beat the Saints in the Superdome. Easy, right?
  15. 4th and 4 for the Falcons...1:23 left. This is the game.
  16. The Panthers are on overdrive trying to blow this game as the Falcons are driving.
  17. NOOOOOOOOOO
  18. Ok, so Carolina's tiebreaker situation right now is that they beat STL so they're ahead of them, they lost to the Giants so they're behind them, they would have a better divisional record than ATL if they won this so they'd be ahead of them, I THINK we'd be ahead of SF based on common opponents. Basically, the Giants need to lose out and we need to win out, and I think GB needs to lose next week too.
  19. Now THAT'S more like it. 96 yards for Foster, 78 for Williams. Too bad we're all but eliminated or I'd be really excited. Weinke has thrown for 32 yards and we're winning. Thank you D for being ridiculously good. Anyway, my late picks: Chicago (-6) St. Louis (-1) New Orleans (+3) Atlanta (-6.5) Baltimore (+3.5) New England (+3) Buffalo (-4.5) Indianapolis (-9.5) Cleveland (-3) San Francisco (-4) Cincinnati (+3) San Diego (-4.5) Dallas (-7) NY Jets (+2.5)
  20. You'll have to trust that I picked KC (I put it in my Yahoo picks but forgot to post here).
  21. My 115 points and 5-1 record places me in the 98th percentile of all ESPN.com players right now :) This is completely out of character for me, I used to almost take pride in my ability to get under 40% of the bowl games right.
  22. Now THAT was one way to take my UC virginity. Hell of a fun game :) My water truck and my bagel won their scoreboard races which just made it that much more fun.
  23. Yeah, before the playoffs begin they'll have announced when the Bears play. I'd guess the Sunday late game if I was a betting man.
  24. Ball State's streak of close L's continues with a 67-60 defeat to Tennessee State. Silver lining is that Skip Mills (26 points, 9 rebounds) looks to finally be back on his game. Next is another sacrificial lamb game at IU, then conference play begins.
  25. what went horribly wrong? and yeah, i told you guys that byu was really good. And yet you only put 15 points on them in the ESPN Pick Em game. Is that it? I did those picks about 15 minutes before the first game started, so I blew through the confidences pretty quickly. Still, I'd guess most people put less than 15 points on that game. I put 26 on the Cougs and am currently leading the NSBB league :D
