  1. 50-6 at halftime. Also from the wacky scores department: UW-Whitewater beat some team called Wesley 44-7.
  2. Ball State is facing #22 Oklahoma State tonight in San Diego as part of what has to be the toughest OOC schedule in the history of the program. I'd be happy with any positives we can get out of this one.
  3. Can the end result be that Jason Bay is a Cub? I'm pretty sure Bay is under contract through 08 so it'd be impossibly dumb for the Buccos to deal him now.
  4. Air Force leads Colorado College 30-0.
  5. Alando Tucker = good
  6. Gamble's questionable, Lucas will only play nickel duty, Delhomme's thumb is too injured to play...it's like 2004 all over again.
  7. I think McDonough, Raftery and Bilas are the best broadcast team in college hoops. Wisconsin looking pretty impressive right now against Marquette. Up 10 with 10:41 to play.
  8. P.J. Brown? Good point, I forgot PJ.
  9. Toledo hanging in with Kansas... Go MAC!
  10. I don't think there's one person in the Bulls' current rotation that I'd trade straight-up for Iverson save Sweetney. Seriously.
  11. If Luol Deng isn't an All-Star this season something is wrong. He's just been great game in and game out.
  12. TAMPA BAY (+3) over Atlanta CINCINNATI (-11) over Oakland Philadelphia (-1.5) over WASHINGTON NY Giants (+3) over CAROLINA Minnesota (+2.5) over DETROIT Indianapolis (-1.5) over JACKSONVILLE Baltimore (+3) over KANSAS CITY Tennessee (+1.5) over HOUSTON New England (-3.5) over MIAMI Seattle (-3) over ARIZONA SAN FRANCISCO (-4.5) over Green Bay NY JETS (-4) over Buffalo SAN DIEGO (-7.5) over Denver DALLAS (-7) over New Orleans Chicago (-6.5) over ST. LOUIS
  13. I'm not sure you can say Jocketty is a flat-out moneyball guy, but he sure does seem to know how to get good players at little cost (Spiezio, Carp, Kennedy, etc.), which was the entire idea behind Moneyball.
  14. I know it is, but being a GM involves taking calls at all hours, negotiating million dollar deals all day long and balancing a bunch of issues at once. It's highly stressful under normal conditions, and even more so when your job is on the line. My dad had the procedure done 20 years ago when it was new. He's about to celebrate his 91 st birthday. I think Hendry will be fine. 8-) My uncle pretty much the same thing. It is amazing what they can do these days. Glad Jim has insurance ;) What insurance? http://www.uptownchamber.com/newsimages/aflac.jpg
  15. I'm already annoyed with this statement and it's only been two days. Probably because it was thrown around a lot last year too re: Giles (albeit with apparent justification).
  16. I'm a Notre Dame fan, but they were not on the bubble last year. RPI of 95, barely above 500. Not a single win over a tournament team(Though I think Hofstra deserved to go.) I understand that pretty much every loss came in ridiculous fashion, but there comes a point around loss #10 by 1 possession that you can't keep forgiving a team, and you have to start punishing them for not being able to close out a game. Well, I was referring to the two years previous to that when they went 9-7 each year and were denied. No matter how close they were to being a good team, they were 12th in the Big East and that's not going to get you invited.
  17. Baker never used the lineup shown above, not even once. The players with the most starts by lineup order were as follows....... 1. Pierre (159) 2. Walker (32), Theriot (29), Cedeno (26), Perez (20) 3. Ramirez (52), Walker (35), Barrett (34), Lee (33) 4. Ramirez (72), Nevin (21), Jones (19), Barrett (15), Murton (14) 5. Jones (57), Murton (28), Ramirez (23), Barrett (22) 6. Jones (38), Murton (28), Mabry (24), Barrett (18) 7. Murton (45), Cedeno (22), Jones (22), Blanco (20) 8. Cedeno (85), Blanco (30), Perez (21) 9. pitchers (153), Blanco (6), Hairston (2), Perez (1) I love ya Fred, but didn't Pierre start all 162 last year and lead them all off? Dusty put him 2nd in three games to try and jump-start him. Didn't work.
  18. 99-85! :D I freaking dare you to leave us off the bubble again this year Selection Committee. Two great OOC wins by the Irish! They should be 12-1 when Big East play begins against Louisville on January 3rd.
  19. DEFENSE! STEALS! 93-82! 2 MINUTES LEFT!
  20. ND doing their best 05-06 impersonation, blowing a late lead against a good team. It's 85-80 and Bama's headed to the line for 2.
  21. A couple of stupid turnovers (Kurz doesn't see a pass coming and McAlarney inadvertently walks in the backcourt) rob ND of a chance to really put the heat on. 85-75 with 4 minutes to go. <3 Russell Carter
  22. Harangody is surprisingly athletic for such a large man. This is the first game I'm watching him play and he's a stud. 72-66 ND :D
  23. Tied at half at 49! Have I said I really like this team? They execute really well on every end.
  24. Wow, I really like the looks of this team. ND down just one 28-27 with 7:30 left in the 1st.
