  1. Marinelli has said that Kitna's his guy for 2007, which could lend credence to the theory that they might draft Quinn and Carson Palmer him for a year. I know that Quinn is magically somehow the lock for the first overall pick in the draft, but, is anyone else thinking that he could become a huge bust? I mean, yeah, he's been playing in that pro-style offense for two years and is the "most ready" but I haven't been impressed with him in any big game at the college level. Do I think he'll bust? No. I think he'll be a pretty safe pick. But I don't think he's as safe as everyone thinks he is. As much as I know you'd love to see Brady Quinn crash and burn, here are a few stats: Career Record: Quinn: 29-16 QB1: 27-18 Record vs. Top 15 teams: Quinn: 2-7 QB1: 2-7 Career Numbers: Quinn: 914-1567, 11,614 yards, 93 TDs, 37 INTs, 58.3 comp%, 7.41 yards/attempt QB1: 927-1569, 11.818 yards, 72 TDs, 49 INTs, 59.1 comp%, 7.53 yards/attempt This "all-numbers" QB who couldn't get it done in big games' name was Carson Palmer, coached by Norm Chow. At worst, Quinn/Weis is a wash. Brady's gonna be fine.

  3. I'm in first in overall wins, if only because soccer10k is the only other poster to make picks each week.
  4. How on earth is this extension not signed yet?
  5. :?:
  6. Darius Walker + Rhema McKnight = little chance of pro success. Jeff Samardzija = slightly overrated pro prospect. Anyone on our defense not named Victor Abiamiri or Derek Landri = terrible pro prospect. Maybe exception for Zbikowski. Chew on that. :D The funny thing is, it seems like most fans that are not ND fans really want Zbikowski for their pro team-I think he's one of the most overrated players in the country, and it seems like you do as well. I agree with you about the different players projections. Oh, definitely agree. I'm still trying to get my head around him getting 3rd team All-America even though he is simply awful at covering people and doesn't have any interceptions.
  7. That was an intriguing offer. Very surprised that the Fish offered Nolasco.

  9. Wow, I had to search the thread to make sure I actually said it because I didn't remember doing so. Oh well, nice work me! Then again I also predicted another Car/Sea NFC title game when it's looking a lot like Chi/NO right now.
  10. ESPNEWS's Michael Kim just said that the Braves did indeed non-tender Giles.
  11. Weren't the Stros just refusing to add Hirsh to the Jon Garland deal just a week ago? Bad, bad, bad deal. God bless NL Central GMs.
  12. Well, the guy who wrote the Denver Post article proclaiming Carolina would go after Quinn is being roundly discredited. :(
  13. Let's be honest. The East blows. With a couple of breaks, the Bulls can make the Finals despite the fact that they're not playing nearly as well as they should at times. Even a mediocre Bulls team can still earn the honor to get pasted by Phoenix/SA/Lakers/Dallas/whoever in the big dance.
  14. You guys are ruining the Hester-worship in that post.
  15. Without Hester, the Rams would've been going for a game-tying two-pointer there. Warrants mentioning.
  16. your team doesn't have to play him in their bowl game. Luckily no. And the Panthers dodged having to play Hester by ducking out of the playoffs entirely. Brilliant move! :D
  17. I'd just like to say that Devin Hester has now taken his place alongside Darren McFadden as players that scare the ever-living crap out of me.
  18. April 2006: Bears fans on NSBB (and for that matter, nationwide) rip Jerry Angelo for overdrafting a kick return specialist. December 2006: Devin Hester breaks the NFL record for returns for TDs in a season. This is just unbe-freaking-lievable.
  19. Danny Granger is so freaking good.
  20. Good lord, I get on here for one second to check what's going on and he's done it again.
  21. Luol Deng is so good.
  22. ND ranked 21 in the AP and 27 in the coaches this week.
  23. how does the tie breaker work if both teams have the same conference record? if the Bears still have the tie breaker over NO, it would have been six of one, half dozen of the other. The next tie-breaker is common games, minimum of four, then strength of victories. I think it would come down to strength of victories because the Bears and Saints have both won all their common games (TB, GB, SF) although if the Saints were to lose to the Giants in Week 16, that would give the common games tiebreaker to the Bears. Not to nitpick, but the Bears haven't beaten TB yet. Doubting are you? (I didn't catch myself on that one)
