  1. For 2 quarters this team had a playoff offense. Too bad the rest of the team [expletive] sucks
  2. Awful offense from both teams
  3. If we lose to Geno Smith and Eric Decker, then it is a well deserved loss. With that being said, I think our WR's will feast on a short quick passing game.
  4. Should have just stated it's all in the past and he has made many mistakes in his past. The Bears PR department continues to be a clown college. Whoever is running the Bears twitter is tweeting out everything Marshall is saying which came back to haunt the Ravens.
  5. Good: One of many the positives of this regime IMO. They see what we see on the field and aren't afraid to make a change for potential improvement.
  6. Still pumped about the Bills win. I think it is a good thing that much of difficulty with the first half was on the offensive side of the ball, as I have more confidence in Trestman and Kromer fixing it then if it were more defensive problems. 27-17 Bears
  7. Oh and this gif was posted of Briggs...and that was 2 years ago....ugh http://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/image/upload/s--XRU1vP8M--/c_fit,fl_progressive,q_80,w_636/185uo8nt3c7nggif.gif Source: http://www.49erswebzone.com/forum/niners/179485-san-francisco-49ers-chicago-bears-pregame-thread-week/page4/ That gif is epic. I remember inviting over some 49er fans to watch the game and I was excited that we would have a fun game to watch. I was miserable and hammered by the second quarter. Trestman has 2 more years on his deal, along with interestingly enough, Jay Cutler. One would have to think those two are tied together. I also think 4-12 is not out of the question this year. This team is old and very average with an awful D-Coord.
  8. Uh....I guess I trust him. I know it's odd to say after Angelo, but I don't believe a GM can only draft effectively on one side of the ball. Angelo kinda didn't care about offense, and had a coach that reiterated that. But I think Emery and Trestman legitimate think defense matters a ton and will get it right at some point. Hell, I don't think the jury is out on Bostic, and I think Sutton and Vereen will both be solid-to-good players. It's amazing how many of the defensive issues could've been solved by simply drafting Chandler Jones over Shea McClellin. Maybe you keep a rejuvenated Peppers. Maybe last offseason's FA money would've been spent on a stud LB, DT or safety. Agreed on Bostic. I can see him being a solid player going forward. I'm pretty confident in Fuller and Sutton, as long as they're healthy. And replacing Garza with de la Puente is such a great upgrade. Hopefully Garza doesn't get his job back when he's healthy. Yeah, Bostic probably had a decent game if you fault Briggs for the long Dixon run. I don't know where he was on the OT run(s), because I haven't re-watched, but he was fine the rest of the snaps he was in there. And I forgot about Fuller. No doubt he'll be good if healthy. Fuller matched Watkins stride for stride and looked promising.
  9. Holes? Garza will be upgraded today if they bench him. Briggs, Tillman and Williams are marginally better than their replacements. If all 3 were replaced today, how much worse can the Bears D be? Allen looks like he's about done too, Young clearly outplayed him. I'll agree with you on Garza. Our line as a whole didn't generation pressure. We likely need a young DE prospect to groom after this year. Do you trust Emery to draft defensive players?
  10. The Bears have to find a NFL quality LB out of Bostic/Greene/Jones. I can't believe to this point (Obviously Jones first year) Greene and Bostic haven't shown much development. My negative feelings about this team aren't so much based on the short term failure but the fact that we likely will need 2-3 solid drafts to become a heavyweight in the NFL. Garza, Briggs, DJ Williams, Allen and Tillman could be gone next year leaving yet more open holes on the defense.
  11. One thing barely anyone is talking about is the fact that Khaseem Greene was listed as inactive for the game. This likely means yet another bad Emery draft pick and adds to the discussion that he has absolutely no idea how to draft defensive players.
  12. Call it meatball, or realistic based on the Bears history in SF, but I fully expect meltdown mode Cutler. Jay with 3 INTs. 31-10 Niners. I'll be starting Carlos Hyde in my Fantasy league as well. Guy looks scary good.
  13. i had never heard this all i remember was him very publicly reluctantly taking on the role as the lead guy once urlacher was gone. Bernstein or someone on the Score has been saying this since last year Wrong. The story was told that last year's LB coach was some bum (name escapes me) I believe from the CFL with Trestman that was never a NFL LB coach and he basically had no idea how to run Lovie's system of defense. So Lance had to command the LB room and run many of the meetings. That coach was fired, taking the hit for Mel Tucker along with Mike Phair, last year's Dline coach.
  14. Wait until Jay melts down next week with 5 INTs like last time
  15. Verdict is out on Jay. He makes dumb mistakes and can never sustain good play long enough to ever win a title. Jay looked like [expletive] today aside from the first drive. Bears still rely way too much on 1 RB to handle all the carries
  16. Yeah this year could be an all time bad one. Especially if were embarrassed on national tv next week. Honeymoon over. Emery has built this team. It looks awful.
  17. I'm over the Emery hipster picks too. Still have yet to find an impact player on defense
  18. Bears looked terrible lol
  19. Per Schefter it's sprained MCL, not torn, and he shouldn't miss much time. Not considered serious. Didn't we learn with Cutler that sprain = tear? Yes we did, well some of us anyway. He has a TORN MCL per reports on Twitter. More O-line problems for the Pack.
  20. A lot of pessimism on the various local networks (670 The Score, The Game, ESPNChicago) regarding the Bears, their defense and lack of depth. Many paint Trestman as the 'Offensive Lovie' with no clue about Special Teams and Defense. Man I hope they're wrong...
  21. I'm ready to move on from Lance Briggs. We desperately need GOOD youth at the LB position.
  22. Bears take this one. Buffalo is a mess, however I do think they will have some success pounding the ball down the Bears throats.
  23. By cutting Frey there are now only 2 draft picks from Emery's first draft. After Shea's inevitable failure as a LB there will only be Alshon left.
  24. I really want to see our Center get push in the run game. Garza has been bad for awhile now.
