  1. Well...ok...you're acting like Kyle Long turned out to be [expletive] though. I think hes been above average, but I still have a problem with taking a Guard in the first round of a draft for a variety of reasons. Especially when you have other players that are universally considered higher ranked. We're paying the sins for Angelo being a turd in the draft, but Phil hasn't exactly been the remedy. Sure he's had a few hits the last 3 years (Alshon, Long(?)), but to date he hasn't found 1 good defensive player in the draft and we're still searching for a Safety since Mike Brown. Ok, but if he'd gone defense we'd be whining about being an all defensive team in an offensive league. Like you said, we're paying for the sins of Angelo here. Emery has built a hell of an offense here, is keeping our QB upright for a change, and rebuilt a defensive line that was flat out horrible last year. Obviously, the D-line needs to prove whether or not he did a good job, but so far this preseason, they're getting a very good rush. The secondary is just letting the receivers get open. Obviously Emery is going to hear plenty about the Shea pick, and rightfully so...but while Long was drafted higher than projected, he's turned out to be a very good pick, and from all accounts is only going to get better. I think he's done a great job in the FA market and finding veterans to round out the roster. But this team needs an infusion of youth and talent in the defense/offense which will trickle down to Special Teams. Our biggest weakness has yet to be addressed (young talent).
  2. Well...ok...you're acting like Kyle Long turned out to be [expletive] though. Geez, seriously. And OL was much more of a problem spot than CB anyways. By my math he's played exactly 26 career games of Football at the College AND NFL level. He was considered a project player with both character and experience risk. My point is Phil took an unnecessary gamble. To his credit, the Bears were rumored to be heavily interested in Trufant, but you could have gone with Warford in the second if you wanted a Guard. Warford should have been in the Pro Bowl over Long last year.

  4. I'm not going to freak out about a pre-season game, however the Linebackers still look suspect. I also cannot emphasize how irritated I am to see Chandler Jones have another monster performance and to see Shea steamrolled time and time again. Emery also chose Kyle Long over Trufant which at the time was awful. Trufant now looks (per Matt Miller) like a top 5 CB in all of football. Thanks Phil.
  5. http://cdn2.thegloss.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/table-flip.gif Doesn't really bother me. What other safeties have caught your eye in the first two games? Conte's bad...but I'm not sure we have safeties that are better. The Linebackers are more of a concern IMO. As long as the Dline plays well the Safety play will be better.
  6. We parted with a pick for Vereen, can't remember which round
  7. Game 2: Shitty run game and shitty Special Teams (again) Joe D better have some magical "process" to fix it, even though his coaching history is awful. The lack of run game is worrisome. Garzas age and lack of push up the middle can't help
  8. Entire LB corps and Special Teams look like garbage. First preseason game I know...
  9. I definitely underrated the lack of depth of Offense, especially the skill positions. We have 0 depth at WR and TE.
  10. well....aside from the fluff....
  11. Yeah, I refuse to get excited about any trades involving the Bulls until it's listed as confirmed on ESPN (Sports for Dummies).
  12. Kevin Love could get some time at 3 in an all big lineup? Gasol won't be playing more then 30 minutes a game and he'll be out of the game in late 4th quarter situations as it is currently constructed.
  13. http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/11247946/chicago-bulls-join-cleveland-cavaliers-kevin-love-trade-push Blue balls incoming
  14. The era of White Basketball has arrived in Chicago.
  15. Is it valid to roast GarPax for the trading of Aldridge for Tyrus Thomas? That's another blemish on their record.
  16. When the Harden saga was ongoing, I never once heard a Bulls rumor or report that they reached out to him. I could be wrong. I also understand Noah is GarPax's guy, but I would have exchange him with Howard at the time without hesitation.
  17. My problem with GarPax is they reasonably had a shot to trade Taj/Deng etc in years past to acquire the All-Star talent to build around and just haven't done it. James Harden immediately comes to mind and potentially Howard/prime Gasol/Kobe. James Harden isn't my favorite player nor is he a complete player but his scoring touch would sure look nice on this roster.
  18. I'm just going to assume we won't get anybody of note and be surprised if we do. I still don't see how Anthony can leave so much money on the table.
  19. yuck, The Game hosts are so boring
  20. That's not what they're doing. He's Gordon Wittemeyer on the down low.
  21. I'll trust the others that post here on this pick before throwing out an opinion. I know nothing about HS or College baseball prospects. However I will point out, that the negative reactions are hilarious. Especially JoseHernandez18's reaction.
  22. I'm ready for Hossa and Sharp to make a WCF appearance
  23. [expletive] Handzus and Seabrook
  24. God I want the Hawks to beat LA in Game 6 so bad. I wouldn't be as upset if they lost in 7 games, but our Defensemen really need to step it up.
