  1. Like what? Emerys [expletive] 'stats' about Jay Cutler winning, his thoughts on Shea staying as a starting LB, Allen showing speed and an ability to bend the edge etc. Even the crap about the Solider Field sod was dumb. But it's what you're going to hear from basically any team in this situation barring the person speaking is a complete meatball having a meltdown. You're longing for something that just doesn't happen. You're right, I figured as much. The tone seemed more defensive then really admitting there being issues. It was unsatisfying.
  2. Like what? Emerys [expletive] 'stats' about Jay Cutler winning, his thoughts on Shea staying as a starting LB, Allen showing speed and an ability to bend the edge etc. Even the crap about the Solider Field sod was dumb. Trestman was non-commital as always about the situation this team is in. The fact that he probably should be riding the team this week instead of giving them more time off.
  3. The roster has enough talent. But I agree with the need for speed. How do you figure they have enough talent? The depth is awful at the LB/WR/TE/S positions and some of the players are old and done. A lack of young talent. That is compounding the horrible coaching issues. Angelos drafting combined with Emery's first draft and bad contracts handed out this offseason are heavily affecting this team. I do like Phil Emery, but his offseason moves (aside from Willie Young) and coaching hire look bad. Not drafting Chandler Jones and having 1 of the 3rd/4th/5th round picks sticking in the first draft is huge. I don't know if I should be irritated about that [expletive] press conference yesterday or understanding about the fact that they're going to preach patience and positivity. I would of liked to have heard some stern words and some accountability for the players.
  4. No coach is going to fix this sorryass roster. The Bears need to string together some good drafts and increase the speed of this team
  5. Yeah man gotta get back to the basics, the guys are doing everything we ask, *some random analytical thing to prove that we're just a few tweaks away from being a contender* Everyone is working hard. We have the right people and the players to get 'this thing' turned around.
  6. Are you really basing this off a PFF score? He was fine yesterday. The throws over 20 yards were the Hail Mary, at least 2 non-called DPIs, 1 throw away, and the great Bennett catch, which actually was called DPI too. Oh Hell no, but the fumble was all on him and he again he didn't look that great. He is getting paid like a top QB, he needs to cut down on the turnovers and make better decisions. "Fine" isn't going to get the Bears in the playoff hunt this year or next. He needs to take the next step with his turnovers and get that fixed. Once that is done I think he has a chance to be great and in turn the Bears will be great. Jay is not going to change in year 10. He's turnover prone and his mechanics are questionable. He is who he is at 31 years of age.
  7. 31-10 Packers. Rodgers with 3 TD passes and Jay with 2 turnovers.
  8. The media is going IN on the Bears on Twitter. Cant wait to hear how Emery spins this disaster of a season.
  9. I'm not ready to fire Emery. We're paying for Angelos sins of shitty drafting for years. He left this team with nothing
  10. This. Forte has earned every penny of his deal.
  11. the refs do not give a [expletive], they are going to [expletive] the bears to benefit every single team ever This team is a flaming pile of horseshit with shitty coaching. Why pin this on refereeing?
  12. Nothing is ever Cutlers fault
  13. Nice work by Jay staring down his receivers and not looking off the defense. Can't see the field at all
  14. How do you figure? They have an open championship window for the foreseeable future as a result of the trade. They have 3 legit scoring options in a crappy East.
  15. Your gif use is top notch sir.
  16. So basically limit Noah's minutes all year until the playoffs start. We have the depth to do so.
  17. Ahh, the warm fuzzy memories of Chris Williams (vs the Lions or the Giants?) when he was rag dolled and driven into Cutler.
  18. Did you see the minutes played? They were not overplayed. This was the first time that Rose had played any significant 4th quarter minutes in the preseason, and he still only played 24 minutes. Four of the Cleveland starters played more minutes than any of the Bulls did. I know Thibs is crazy, but this was not an issue last night. Yeah. If anything, the Cavs were the team that treated this like a regular season game (and I believe they said as much going in). TIPPING POINT. LOLOLOLOL
  19. Thibs leaning on his starters in the closing minutes of a preseason game IN Ohio with Lebron on the bench. Nice work Thibs.
  20. I'm not sure if you're only basing it on that chat response but if so, I wouldn't put much stock into something from that setting. Especially given all the political ramifications of that question. I've come around to really liking Emery's ability to address needs on this team. The two bad moves he's made so far is hiring Trestman and picking Shea in the 1st round.
  21. This. 100% This. At what point do you join the loud chorus of people who have given up on Cutler? Just curious. Obviously from a national perspective, pretty much everyone already has. I think this is the first year that locally I've seen the beat reporters and the radio guys starting to dump on him and think of him as a wildly erratic and inconsistent starter. Apparently you've paid as much attention to local sports press as you do to Cutler's actual numbers; it's been a cliche shtick on the radio shows alone to have one goon be pro-Cutler and one goon be anti-Cutler for years now. The papers and blogs have had plenty of anti-Cutler pieces over the years. None of it's new. I don't think one can lean on Cutler's improved statistics and point to that as a reason for optimism nor can you say for sure that he's clearly better this year then last year in terms of leading the offense down the field and making the right reads. Regarding The Score, I think they're usually pretty reasonable in terms of opinion and last year, they gave Jay/Trestman a free pass for their first year in the offense. This year with the new contract and the consistency on offense, everyone expected better then what is displayed right now. This is different, whether you want to believe it or not. A mash-up of flaws in offensive playcalling, personnel and execution. Also you're unable to make a point or opinion on this board without subtly attacked another poster or come off as a giant turd. 46ks posts of trying to be the smartest guy in the room. We get it.

  23. It sucks to be locked in to Cutler for another 2 seasons. I think this team is teetering on the brink of 'full rebuild' mode. Just too many holes and too many 30+ year olds. I go between agreeing with this and not agreeing with it. I don't think you ever need to rebuild in the NFL if you have a base of talent, stability at QB and at least an average drafting GM. I guess up for debate is how many of those the Bears have. An NFL rebuild is essentially getting a new GM and giving him a year or 2 to make the team much better. I was kinda referring to Trestman being canned eventually and having to reboot with a new coach and likely a new QB. Who's going to want to take on the chance to coach a 33/34 year old Cutler who's proven to be somewhat of a coach killer?
  24. It sucks to be locked in to Cutler for another 2 seasons. I think this team is teetering on the brink of 'full rebuild' mode. Just too many holes and too many 30+ year olds. EDIT: I just heard that Jay is the highest paid NFL player this year? LOL
  25. Agreed, but you know where the narrative is going to go now... ...even thought his INT led to nothing, and that strip/sack wasn't his fault. Huh? That INT was terrible and stopped a drive. Some people refuse to accept reality. Jay is a big part of the inconsistent offense.
