  1. Good action so far. Pens looking pretty good.
  2. It always, at least partially, about the myopic need for more left handed hitters. As for DeRosa, I'd love to have such a versatile player hitting 266/333/446 with eight homeruns, 31 runs and 32 RBI's. That's after his abysmal start. He's at 295/352/453 for the month of May, 341/426/512 the last 14 days, and 364/440/636 the last seven days. The rumors of his demise have been greatly exaggerated.
  3. I think Indy and Louisville would both be rather poor options.
  4. Yes, he did everything the Cubs could have asked him to do. I'm sure the downturn is inevitable, but he deserved to stay up.
  5. They defended Man U brilliantly. I'm surprised. Also, seems like for such a good player, you can say "Rooney was invisible" too often. May just be me, not like I really get to catch too many Premiership games.
  6. Wow. Flash in the pan or not, it's tough to see a 31-year-old middle infielder finally get called up to the majors, hit 257/381/457 and still get sent back down. Real nice to see Indiana-boy Fox up though.
  7. I hope Barca wins, but it's going to be a struggle with their back line in shambles.
  8. I wish this game was on in the afternoon. It's Memorial Day, c'mon! (I do understand the travel back from SD.)
  9. Eric Gordon to the Bulls would be absolutely hilarious. I would love for it to happen; it would be a much better situation for him than the Clippers. It's not going to happen, of course. I really want the Pacers to take Blair. I think the point guards that would be left are all rather fungible (though I do have my preferences, not sure any are worth No. 13, even in this draft).
  10. Finally bored enough at work to do this (also because I knew it wouldn't be much of a challenge for me). Got all 122 teams, all BCS teams, all nicknames, all 13 cities with all four sports . . . going to try athlete nicknames now -- won't do near as well there. Edit: Missed six golf, five boxing (don't follow either), two hockey, and one football nickname. Edit redux: Got 119/120 on BCS nicknames, because I had no idea that Arkansas State was no longer the Indians. I typed "Indians" probably ten times, because I knew it was correct. Oh well. Just saw Andy's post about the same thing too.
  11. I have a grand total of two friends that are hockey fans. They're both Red Wings fans. Anyway, after that near non sequitur, GO 'HAWKS!
  12. This is easily the most excited I've ever been for a hockey game/series. As a casual fan, I can't help but feel like sort of a fair weather fan. Luckily, I have an extremely worn in 'Hawks hat dating back quite a few years to sport tomorrow.
  13. Wow, Soto shows up. Good for him. Theriot again!???!!
  14. I was thinking along the same lines. I consider that game to be relatively predictive, and the Wings were clearly better. I'm expecting a similar result in the conference finals (assuming Wings close out the Ducks) with the 'Hawks winning once or twice.
  15. Wow, what a game. That was the best game I've ever seen the Blackhawks involved in. I really can't believe they're in the conference finals. This long-time casual 'Hawks fan has never enjoyed hockey so much. Maybe all it did take was Wirtz dying...
  16. I'll be there! First game at Wrigley in two years -- last year was only the second year I have missed since I first went in 1994. Please win.
  17. I was honestly thinking that could be a possibility.
  18. I really enjoy this pick.
  19. PS You might remember the Colts most recent pick from this:
  20. Or not. It's the Colts third round pick. They pick somebody somewhat strange and he busts. It's 11 years and counting now with no real solid picks among them. Hopefully Powers possibly breaks that streak, but I don't see it right now. Ha ha, yeah. As excellent as Polian is in the draft, the third round has been a complete quagmire. Pretty strange. Another CB was a need, I think, let's hope Powers works out.
