Gameday was slow and I actually thought Lou was going to let Hill bat and not pinch-hit Soto (or someone/Bradley). My computer might have gone flying out my office window if that happened.

I have way too many friends that play or at least enjoy soccer to believe "no one" cares. Even people that I know that "don't like soccer" end up watching some of the World Cup. Of course, Bloomington is a pretty damn big soccer community. Club soccer is far, far less popular though (only big soccer fans follow it). All that to agree with you.

I'd still rank 3-2 over portugal and 2-0 over Mexico above that, maybe even 2-1 vs. Columbia from 1994. Just because those are the World Cup and this is the Confederations Cup. Yeah, the World Cup adds a certain je ne sais quoi that the Confederations Cup can't match. I think all three of those results have to trump this one just because of that. This is right up there for best win ever though, especially best non-WC win.

I am in complete and utter shock right now. Amazing result. Can't help but be disappointed Bradley got sent off and won't be available for the final though. That really hurts.

It's great. WHY ISN'T ITALY ADVANCING? THEY BEAT THE U.S. 3-1!! WHAT IS THIS GOAL DIFFERENTIAL STUFF? WHY DON'T THEY JUST USE HEAD-TO-HEAD? It's like they're just completely disregarding Egypt as if they're not involved in the tie at all. Reminds me of how Texas Tech didn't count -- according to the media -- in breaking the three-way Big Twelve South football tiebreaker.

Hawks made it to the Finals in 92. Yeah, should've mentioned that; but that predates my fanhood. I hadn't even watched a hockey game at that point. A young kid in southern Indiana doesn't get much hockey exposure -- it's a self-taught discipline.

We need one of +2 from both matches, +3 from us and +1 from Brazil or +4 from us and 0 from Brazil. We have to win at least 3-0 and have our winning margin and Brazil's add up to seven or more. Brazil notching another wouldn't surprise me; while the US has had numerous chances, I'm not optimistic they play at +2 in the second half.

Closest: Pacers: 2000 NBA Finals IU Basketball: 2002 Championship game (not counting 81 and 87, which were technically in my lifetime). Cubs: Up 3-1 in 2003; Playoffs subsequently canceled. Blackhawks: This year. Better things to come though. IU Football: Hahahaha. 1991 Copper Bowl Champs. Seriously, that's the best I got. Colts: \:D/

Stupid; just inexcusable. Today is the perfect time for Torres and Adu to get some minutes. Instead, we're stuck with the same crap that has been outscored 6-1 in two games. Bradley must go.
