  1. Matt Forte has 1 run over 16 yards this year.
  2. Yeah, the receivers aren't making up for their obvious lack of physical talent by being savvy and not doing anything stupid. That's a big concern. This team is like the Bulls in that they do nothing well.
  3. Alternatively, we could give Cutler a brain and see how he does.
  4. James Johnson is a huge bust btw. This guy doesn't have any skills.
  5. Only abject failure of teams get blown out by EVERY good team on its schedule. I expected better although I probably shouldn't at this point. This team is an utter embarrassment. Even horrible teams have maybe one area where they can play at an equal footing with a good opponent. Horrible coaching, horrible shooting, horrible bench, horrible rebounding, horrible defense. There's nothing to hang your hat on.
  6. Another [expletive] blowout. If the Warriors didn't miss a zillion open jumpers last night that would've been a loss too.
  7. Oh I'm sure it'll be pretty brutal. Maybe not at Augusta but anywhere else he decides to play (especially Ryder Cups and majors at public courses) he'll get a lot of heckling. I forgot where I read this but someone was mentioning it's fortunate that Tiger wasn't playing at Bethpage this coming US Open. That would've been great.
  8. aka I'll be back a few weeks before the Masters to start tuning up.
  9. Matt Taibbi wrote a pretty hilarious column in Rolling Stone about the Bears and their horrible QBs over the years. Unfortunately RS has everything behind a subscription wall so if you're at a newstand I recommend looking for it.
  10. http://home.comcast.net/~chesler/Blog/ninth_avenue.jpg
  11. Plus when you factor in seeding and maybe even byes or home field advantage with the fact that 8 (or 12/16) teams really isn't a lot...college football still has the most important regular season--by far--of any sport.
  12. A playoff greatly increases the importance of games at the end of the season for teams that are already out of the national title (even conference title) picture under the current system.
  13. I'm pretty sure I'd be pretty pissed if I was Bama this year and saw Georgia Tech win it all because they are in a [expletive] conference. What does Georgia Tech being in the ACC have to do with winning a hypothetical 8 team playoff? I'm sure Alabama would be pissed if any team other than itself won...just like the other 6 teams that didn't win it all in an 8 team playoff.
  14. So Wall = Rondo with a jumper?
  15. I hate to be a downer, but everyone is banking on tapping these free agents. There will be choices for these guys, and frankly right now the Bulls are surely not high on the list. I hope we land a superstar FA but I'm not at all certain it will happen. I thought we'd be a shoe in to look like a more attractive destination, personnel wise, than the Nets or Knicks. Now I'm not so sure.
  16. Turner? Turner's really good but he's more of a creator and all around guy. We need a sniper out there desperately.
  17. The Bulls are making me wish I liked hockey.
  18. The Bulls were 3rd to last in the NBA in point differential coming into tonight's game. This really is one of the worst teams in the NBA.
  19. What? You don't think the guy who said publicly that he'd trade his 6 NBA titles (headline by the greatest and most marketable athlete of all time) for 1 World Series for his 2nd fiddle baseball team is serious about building a winner?
  20. Sign Joe Johnson, draft Patrick Patterson OR Sign Chris Bosh, draft Johnson/Ebanks/Henry
  21. Yeah, but they make up for it with lousy effort. This team is the biggest [expletive] joke in the league.
  22. The biggest problem is playing a half court game without any floor spacers or absolutely no post presence to speak of. When the Bulls were good after the Salmons/Miller trade last they played an up tempo style and were one of the better offenses in the league. I also hate his handling of Rose. He's the only player on the team that can thrive with the ball in his hands in a full court style of play. He's also the only player on the team that can break down a defense off the dribble. So instead of working to those strengths the Bulls slowed way up from last year (to focus on rebounding and defense probably without Gordon) and call tons of pick and rolls with big men who are not good pick and roll players instead of letting Rose create in isolation. It looked like in the beginning that the defense and rebounding were a lot better but that hasn't been the case lately. So now they're a slow tempo, average rebounding team, that doesn't want to guard anyone any more.
  23. Well coaching is a problem, even a big one. If we had the talent to be contenders Vinny wouldn't be the guy to guide us to a championship. I'm just saying Phil Jackson wouldn't get us there either. 80% of NBA head coaches are just retreads who kind of muddle through an assortment of decent, .500, or outright crappy seasons. Guys like Phil and Popovich matter a lot but most head coaches are reasonable facsimilies of each other.
  24. There's some nice individiual players and they don't even fit together particularly well. There's little 3 point shooting and no post presence to speak of. Salmons and Miller look like they've fallen off a cliff since last year. Gibson is merely a backup PF in this league and he's getting tons of minutes (when he's not in foul trouble) because of the Thomas's injury. Lindsey freakin' Hunter is getting run and the guy who normally plays his minutes can't shoot either. I think a good coach could wring more production out of the talent that is there (ala Skiles) by stressing consistent defense and an up tempo style of ball. But these guys that have been lousy shooters their entire careers aren't going to suddenly become good though. Noah isn't gonig to turn into Karl Malone in the pivot either.
