Isn't the question why you would rather have patience rather than power? The scaling helps to answer why a point of OBP is more valuable than a point of slugging percentage.

Wow, those knee concerns must be really worrisome. If he's really running in the 4.4s (which I doubt) at that size, leaping ability, and level of college production he should've been drafted pretty high. 46.5 vertical is insane. That's like 6 inches on Derrick Rose.

Trade flexibility mostly. Plus owners don't want to pay any more than the bare minimum for a bad product. So that would be attractive to their ownership.

Well Melo won't be in the fold until next year at the earliest so you'll have one decent pick and one low one probably...depending on how good you think Paul alone makes them this year.

They got 3 decent/cheap players in the Lee S&T deal with Golden State (Randolph, Turiaf, Azubuike). They have picks and Eddy Curry's expiring contract too. For a team like the Hornets that would go into full bore rebuilding mode if they ever traded Paul, it's not bad actually. You want young, cheap assets in that scenario. Edit: They also have the room to absorb Okafor's bad deal and Raymond Felton as well.

They have all the Heisman's on display in the athletic department on campus...including OJ's which is stilll there. Now Bush's is gone while OJ's gets to stay.

The Cubs are still on my TV, more than 150 times a year because I HAVE DIRECTV i honestly don't understand why anyone who can get it doesn't. I don't know about you but I didn't control the TV provider decisions in my house as a kid.

If you hear that Rose anecdote in a vacuum, then yeah, it might sound dumb that he didn't kiss Lebron's ass. But the thrust of that article was that the Heat thing was in the bag once Riley cleared enough cap space. So who cares at this point?

This is great stuff. I kinda wish they did leave Lebron off the Redeem Team now. I guess this also confirms that Rose didn't kiss Lebron's ass enough for his liking. I'm nonplussed by that at this point.

All things considered, the whiffing on Morrow is looking like the misfire of the offseason. Warriors didn't even match a 4/19 offer sheet from the Nets for him and he would've filled a big need. I'm not in love with Brewer in the starting lineup even if its in name only between him and Korver.

Rory McIlroy has the best looking golf swing I've ever seen. The previous best swing was Adam Scott who's now a bum. Hopefully McIlroy steps up.
