  1. This team is gonna be good. LOVING the new offensive system. No more pointless pick and rolls at the top where they show hard and just trap Rose. The ball movement, the off-ball movement, the spacing is great. And this team is deeeeep. I'm totally drinking the kool-aid. 55+ wins for this team is a reasonable goal. Tommy T is a beast. We're gonna smash the Celtics and then we'll see about the Heat.
  2. I believe Thibs started Noah and Asik up front together.
  3. VDN is a terrible strategist but his teams play hard. Clippers should be decent.
  4. You get to pick what teams you want to watch on League Pass? I'm assuming there's some kinda discount for sticking with a group of teams?
  5. If he didn't know already, I don't think that an ostensibly smart person like Ricketts would need much time for boning up on the club to realize that Jim Hendry isn't the answer.
  6. Did you guys see that Hjalmarsson's first game off suspension is against Buffalo? Is he going to get Bertuzzied?
  7. The Heat might have the worst 4 through 12 in the league.
  8. What are these perceived squeecky clean state schools? Notre Dame? Air Force? I'm not sure anybody with half a brain would be surprised to hear a kid from any school took money from an agent at some point. I bet the average fan would be surprised to hear Duke players took money That's because Shane Battier isn't desperate or dumb enough to take petty cash from an agent. Anecdotally, it seems like most Duke players come from comfortable upper-middle class existences.
  9. The guy who mentored this Luchs character made it seem pretty clear that handing out wads of cash (thousands of dollars at a time) was a dumb move because the player would just walk away once he's been set up. Better to give him some walking around money every month so there's a dependency created. I don't see the incentive of an agent giving a ton of lump sum money to a player as being as strong as a booster to do the same thing.
  10. I don't see how an agent talking into the ear of some 20 year old prospect who probably grew up in some hellhole ghetto encourages a player to remain in school. Of course it varies based on every individual player. There's no way agents hanging around college programs is a net positive when it comes to guys staying in school.
  11. I don't think it only happens at select schools. The article seems to indicate otherwise. But besides that, the agent has a clear, vested financial interest in getting established talents to leave school as soon as possible. You're saying that the agent culture becomes attached to the program so they get better talent to begin with...there's some merit to that argument but to me, the fact that the agents WANT these guys to leave school is a bigger factor on balance.
  12. I think the argument that agents paying players at certain schools actually creates a competitive advantage for the schools in question is pretty ridiculous but some people profess to believe in it.
  13. So basically you're saying that Ricketts is dumb enough to be duped by Hendry's friendly demeanor and the good word of his competitors and underlings? Isn't this guy supposed to be some investment mogul?
  14. Wow, Penn State's S&C program really is a complete joke if that list of exercises is accurate. That is worse than any high school program I've ever seen.
  15. Asik has a good chance at being the Bulls best ever European center! Noah's beasting too. 8 assists!
  16. Sham amateurism.
  17. 32nd in average and 30th in net. He's way below league average. He is near the league lead in punts inside the 20 but I'm not sure that proves anything more than we have a lot of drives stall out close enough where his puny leg can get inside the 20. He's 3rd overall in number of punts. Seriously, he sucks. It shouldn't be difficult to find a league average punter and just get free field position. This is low hanging fruit.
  18. Again, he's here for his punting inside the 20. He's been one of the best in the league for about 4-5 years at getting punts inside the 20. Maynard has been a very good fit for a team that has needed to win the field position battle to win games. That being said, I'd definitely bring someone in to challenge him next year. Brad Maynard blows.
  19. It seems Seattle is smoke and mirrors and needs great special teams play to win against a decent opponent. Watch Brad Maynard blow it with his girly punting. We really need to find someone else after this season. I'm so tired of watching him punt 38 yard line drives.
  20. Was that MVP candidate Mark Sanchez leading the Jets to yet another victory???
  21. I really don't think being the head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguar type teams of the world is more demanding than being the head coach at a place like Alabama.
  22. http://i55.tinypic.com/suvyuo.gif
  23. I think they just missed the call in that situation, honestly. Wasn't the face mask occurring as the ball was being picked? In that situation, it's hard not to ball watch. Even if I were the ref and saw it, I probably wouldn't have called it.
  24. People would've been livid if they called that face mask at that point in the game against Arizona. I'm usually a call it the same way no matter what kinda guy but I would've been one of those people who thought calling a face mask in that situation would've been incredibly lame. What you really meant to complain about was when Urlacher smashed Rodgers in the opener last year. Yeah, that probably should've been called a late hit.
  25. UCLA is either better than Ohio State or worse than Duke on any given week.
