  1. Seattle's got a pretty stout run D and a soft pass D so we're just playing into that. It'd be nice to run it in the red zone though.
  2. Martz can't help himself.
  3. I thought Cutler had Forte cutting underneath on that near pick.
  4. Dolphins ties it up before the half.
  5. This pu pu platter of defensive tackles isn't cutting it.
  6. Y'all see Desean Jackson get absolutely destroyed? One of the biggest hits I've ever seen.
  7. Maynard does something useful!
  8. What a game.
  9. lol @ the Buffalo announcer's voice cracking multiple times
  10. ABC screwed up its Aflac trivia question, I think. They said the highest a freshman had ever finished in the Heisman voting was 2nd and that it happend 3 times (Clint Castleberry, Herschel Walker, Mike Vick). But Adrian Peterson was also a freshman and he finished 2nd in 2004.
  11. Dee Brown sighting!
  12. This team is gonna be good. LOVING the new offensive system. No more pointless pick and rolls at the top where they show hard and just trap Rose. The ball movement, the off-ball movement, the spacing is great. And this team is deeeeep. I'm totally drinking the kool-aid. 55+ wins for this team is a reasonable goal. Tommy T is a beast. We're gonna smash the Celtics and then we'll see about the Heat.
  13. I believe Thibs started Noah and Asik up front together.
  14. VDN is a terrible strategist but his teams play hard. Clippers should be decent.
  15. You get to pick what teams you want to watch on League Pass? I'm assuming there's some kinda discount for sticking with a group of teams?
  16. If he didn't know already, I don't think that an ostensibly smart person like Ricketts would need much time for boning up on the club to realize that Jim Hendry isn't the answer.
  17. Did you guys see that Hjalmarsson's first game off suspension is against Buffalo? Is he going to get Bertuzzied?
  18. The Heat might have the worst 4 through 12 in the league.
  19. What are these perceived squeecky clean state schools? Notre Dame? Air Force? I'm not sure anybody with half a brain would be surprised to hear a kid from any school took money from an agent at some point. I bet the average fan would be surprised to hear Duke players took money That's because Shane Battier isn't desperate or dumb enough to take petty cash from an agent. Anecdotally, it seems like most Duke players come from comfortable upper-middle class existences.
  20. The guy who mentored this Luchs character made it seem pretty clear that handing out wads of cash (thousands of dollars at a time) was a dumb move because the player would just walk away once he's been set up. Better to give him some walking around money every month so there's a dependency created. I don't see the incentive of an agent giving a ton of lump sum money to a player as being as strong as a booster to do the same thing.
  21. I don't see how an agent talking into the ear of some 20 year old prospect who probably grew up in some hellhole ghetto encourages a player to remain in school. Of course it varies based on every individual player. There's no way agents hanging around college programs is a net positive when it comes to guys staying in school.
  22. I don't think it only happens at select schools. The article seems to indicate otherwise. But besides that, the agent has a clear, vested financial interest in getting established talents to leave school as soon as possible. You're saying that the agent culture becomes attached to the program so they get better talent to begin with...there's some merit to that argument but to me, the fact that the agents WANT these guys to leave school is a bigger factor on balance.
  23. I think the argument that agents paying players at certain schools actually creates a competitive advantage for the schools in question is pretty ridiculous but some people profess to believe in it.
  24. So basically you're saying that Ricketts is dumb enough to be duped by Hendry's friendly demeanor and the good word of his competitors and underlings? Isn't this guy supposed to be some investment mogul?
