FIRE BAKER,CLINES,SARGE-OBVIOUS 2. MOVE PIERRE-FOR ANYTHING OF VALUE 3 CALL UP PIE 4. CALL UP EPATTERSON-I KNOW HE IS YOUNG BUT HE MAY ADD A HUGE SPARK AT THE TOP THAT MAY, DARE I SAY IT, SCORE SOME RUNS. 5. MOVE RUSCH, WALKER, PEREZ, DFA' IF NECESSARY- 6. PUT TOGETHER A PACKAGE FOR THE MARLINS FOR MIGGY-BUILD AROUND MURTON+GUZMAN+HILL+ANYONE NOT NAMED PIE-I DONT CARE IF WE OVERPAY IN PROSPECTS-GET HIM AND SIGN HIM UNTIL HE IS 33! PUT HIM IN LEFT AND LEAVE HIM- 7. STOP BITCHING OUT BEAT WRITERS- 8.     i guess my question is just HOW bad does it have to get? The moment he began to somewhat pout yesterrday at the PC would have spelled the end-it is ridiculous he still has a job-

    Someone get freakin Von Joshua on the phone please-wow these guys suck-WE ARE TERRIBLE AT THE PLATE- the pitching will get better with Kerry and Prior, plus Marshall not sucking as he did today and Zambrano coming around, but we still cant score-WE ARE GETTING OWNED BUT JAMEY FREAKIN WRIGHT-ARE YOU KIDDING ME?i say clean house-the astros fired jimy Williams about this time and went on to the playoffs-we need to do something-

    Obviously Pierre isn't as bad as he has shown, but don't you get the feeling that Pierre is a goner at the ASB and Pie will be at CF? well if anything this drop in the order shows he is not a given-I could see if the Cedeno leading off ezperiment works, then Pierre would probably go-at least i hope he would -He is not proiducing Offensively so Pie could be eased in without losing much production if any-probably add some much needed excitement

    I agree but i highly doubt Hendry would do that If Aram did stay, maybe he would go to 2nd base because Walker wont be back i dont think after what happened in the spring :? I think it would be much more likely for Miggy to move to a corner outfield spot. id keep murton and hendry wont get rid of jock 1 year into a 3 year deal it would be a scary lineup if the baseball gods shined on us Pie Cedeno Lee Cabera Aram Murton Barrett jones 2nd base pitcher unfortunately i think any deal involving Miggy will probably have to include Murton-he's young with success at the ML level making the minimum- Id hate it, but for Miggy Cabrera i would let "money" go - Guzman+Murton+R.Hill+Harvey?

    i do think it would be in our best interest to really explore Miggy Cabrera-I know it sounds obvious but for me 1) he is dominican like Aram so that may make him want to stay and 2) it gives us a viable offensive 3rd baseman if Aram decides to leave- at this point thro everything not named Pie and Marshall at the fish to see if they bite-

    I know we all love Z, but with the offense shaking right now and our big gun Lee out for a while-I was wondering what we could get from Z. I know it sounds crazy but what if it went down like this- Maybe we send him to Anaheim for say, Santana+Cotchman+Escobar? now before you blow a gasket just listen- Would the Marlins take Cotchman+Santana+Murton+Aardsma for Miguel Cabrera? If the end result was netting Cabrera would you be up for it? then swing Escobar(6M)+R Hill+J.Jones(4M)+Jwilliams to Philly for Abreu(15M) and all of his salary, then just try and outscore everyone until we get Woody and Prior back- a lineup of CF-Pierre 1B-Walker LF-Cabrera RF-Abreu 3B-Aram C-Barrett SS-Cedeno 2B-Perez/Hairston/Bynum I cant imagine how nasty that lineup gets when Lee gets back-Sorry for dreaming but there aint nothing else to do. I just wish Hendry would think outside of the box and make an impact to get us going-we look terrible offensively right now

    I definitely agree with Vance-but we all need to think about our rotation next season as well- There is a possibility of no Wood, or Maddux-a hopefully healthy Prior. So worst case scenario Z Prior Marshall Guzman Rusch(puke) Beast case scenario Z Prior Maddux Wood Guzman/Marshall The only way i give up Gooz or Marshall is if Willis is coming back in the deal-but for Willis AND Cabrera i give them both up-quick Guzman+Marshall + Murton+J Williams+Sing and any other prospect they want not named Pie. If Murton and continue to build value he would be a great chip to dangle in front of the Marlins in a package for Cabrera/Willis.

    Well last week i turned 30 and my wife gave me the most awesome gift ever(no not that,..unfortunately:(. I have been a cub fan since i was 11- I used to watch all the games on WGN in the summers and have lived and died brutally as many of you have over the years. Unfortunately I have never been to Wrigley-as unbelievable as it sounds, due to many reasons I have never been to a game- My wife gave me a 4 day trip to Chicago and 2 tickets to the Houston Series-We are going to be in Chi-town until Sunday morning and was wondering is anyone has tickets to the Detroit series on Fri(16th) and Sat(17th). iF ANYONE HAS ANY TICKETS PLEASE LET ME KNOW-IF I CAN AVOID PAYING THROUGH THE NOSE AT A BROKER THEN I WOULD LOVE TO- THANKS- My wife would also like to go shopping so if anyone of you guys have an extra ticket and would like to take a completely deranged cubfan like myself-I will be happy to take those tickets off your hands- PS-I have the greatest wife in history(she made me write that)

    This is starting to remind me of '89 more than any other year because they're getting it done playing a few younger guys and getting production from some no-names. Plus Zimmer really had the horseshoe that summer. Seemed like everything he tried worked. That was a fun team to watch. In '89 Jerome Walton broke camp with the club as a rookie and hit lead-off hitter. Dwight Smith got called up about a month into the season and platooned in left with Lloyd Freakin' McClendon, Maddux was in about his third season, Grace was in his second or third. Third base was shared by Vance Law and Angel Salazar. Sutcliffe was in the rotation but I can't remember who the other three starters were. Bielecki was one, Scott Sanderson? and i think it was LUIS Salazar-who else pitched for us? Kilgus?

    whenever and whoever he starts for, I hope this isnt a showcase start in a potential deal to help replace lee- This front office would do something that stupid, Not to be negative, but i could see this being a showcase start coming up for Guzman-He's healthy for the first time and what will we do-trade him and watch him win 20 somewhere else-God I hope not

    agreed- Wellemeyer has shown nothing this ST except he would make a great pinata-Ryu, has shown flashes but this kids value is in the rotation either here or in Iowa-not sitting at the end of the bullpen watching Dusty run Williamson and Howry oout there everyday. It would be a profoundly Cubbiesque move to make ryu the 12th man on the staff and stick him in the bullpen tus killing his value on the market. Wuertz has earned a right to be in the bullpen this year with last years performance, hell, grissoms making the team off 1996's numbers.
