  1. 5-0 since he was called up-not giving him credit for it but, just saying....
  2. i really loathe him-he is a consumate excuse maker-no wonder "players" love him-with him as manager they never do anything wrong.
  3. ditto
  4. "someone fire up the ......BRUCE SIGNAL!.....sorry, really sounded more dramatic in my head-anyway-thanks for the time Mr. Miles-and most importantly the inside scoops! (Psst. Bakersdozen, Batman's real name is Bruce Wayne. Thus, it technically already is a Bruce signal. Spend more time watching cartoons.) "Quick, someone fire up the MORON signal! I have been spotted! man i'm dumb.

  6. How about moving Z to bring in the kings ransom for the next few years- Zambrano+CPatt+Mitre+Hairston to Philly for Abreu+Lofton+Padilla obviously the deal is really Z+Cpatt for Abreu the rest is just for trim-The Phillies would have their ace plus a new CF, another young arm to replace Padilla, and an adequate backup player in Hairston- Plug in the new pieces and things look a bit different- CF-Lofton 2B-Walker 1B-Lee RF-Abreu 3B-Ramirez LF-Burnitz C-Barrett SS-Cedeno Wood-Prior-Maddux-Padilla-Williams That lineup would generate some runs-Padilla needs a change of scenery really badly right now-This deal(although quite fictitious) is the kind of deal we should consider if Z's name enters the mix-nothing short of blockbuster-
  7. Also keep in mind his salary is already in the Trib's budget so to speak-(Broadcasting)Could be an interesting option-slide Brenly in the dugout and give Johnny B his walking papers
  8. One thing I have noticed is we really value Corey TOO much-He unfortunately has shown flashes of being a 5 tool star but has never been-What we as Cub fans have our greatest asset-Hope, It is our hope that builds patterson into Barry Bonds-and completly overvalues him-He is a good player but his shortcomings at the plate will ALWAYS restrict him at the plate- The Cubs Org. also overvalues/overvalued Corey- they put their eggs in that basket and they are going to stick withhim and have stuck with him as long as possible. -who would claim him? Sure a few of your basement dwellers might but does everyone realize Corey is making nearly 3M this year? Not team is going to pony up almost 2M for the remander of the year for a player hitting .230 with an OBP in the .200's- We have made our bed and now we must lay in it-I hope Corey can go down and learn to be a servicable ML player-if not he is probably one of the biggest busts of all time-fair or not.
  9. looks like the kitchen will be very hot for Baker when he gets back to Chicago-He better be glad the All Star break may be a distraction-His days of a "free pass" are over-
  10. Smoltzy's line tonight: 9IP-0R-0H-0E-94 Pitches-0BB-15 strikeouts. I can't believe this lineup-this is horrible-You would rather play Macias at 2B than Hairston? ARE YOU FRIGGIN KIDDING ME? AND BAT HIM 2ND! WHAT IS MACIAS' OBP-......091? THIS IS SO RIDICULOUS-SOMEONE HAS TO CALL HIM OUT ON IT-LAUGHABLE- Baker is probably pissed because Jerry said he wanted to play and the papers took it and ran with it and he is making a show of power-this is the stupidest lineup I think i have ever seen-this harkens back to the dare I say it, Lenny Harris days-
  11. What a Richard Cranium-
  12. eventhough I think that is a good lineup-Dusty will never bat Walker leadoff-he doesn't have speed-And you know with our aggressive basestealing practice :roll: we really need it- "You can't steal first base" Todd Walker.
  13. I kind of think addition by subtraction is quite beneficial as well-The most frustrating thing about this year so far-besides the injuries-is how poorly this team has been run internally- I mean its the 4th of July and our manager just realized that a 1-2 combo of Cpatt and Neifi isn't very good and that hairston-walker with higher OBP ALL year would make for a better combo in front of the two all-stars- Macias is constantly brought in in big PH situations-In game strategy-lets not even talk about :oops: I guess if some things were done internally as subtraction then our team would be better not only now but later-for example: 1. Hairston should play EVERY DAY and leadoff-whether it be in CF, LF, 2B-he should be there everyday-regardless of the [expletive] Lefty/Righty BS-If Hairston shows he can handle CF then deal Corey-lets get an impact bat to play left- Or we could just move Hairston to LF and get Kotsay-we don't need thumpers we need OBP gamers who can generate havoc in front of LEE and ARAM. 2. Walker should play EVERY DAY-obviously this eliminates 2B for Hairston leaving only CF and LF- Now I realize we have had this lineup for 2 days and we lost but does anyone really believe we would be 1 game under 500 if they had started this lineup all year?... 3. Cedeno should play EVERY DAY-lets see what we have, I'm sure he could match Neifi's .298 OBP lately pretty easily-plus we don't fall off defensively-Go to him and say-"SS is yours now-prove you can handle it, if you do its yours next year from moment one-" let's see what we have in this kid. 4. Release Macias-call up Grieve.Move Neifi to the bench-this strengthens our bench with PH duties falling to Holly-Grieve-Perez-Dubois-not bad. 5. QUITE MICRO-MANAGING EVERY SINGLE MOMENT OF THE GAME-This one I guess is for Dusty but the incessant use of the Lefty/right matchup is killing me-the constant changing of the lineup, and misuse of the pen- The other night listiening to the ESPN crew they talked about how "inconsistent" the Cubs have been-well how can you be consistent when 5 of your players don't know where of if they are even going to play because you switch lineups like you switch toothpicks-There is NO rythm of groove for any of these guys-thats why the Kyle Davies of the world can pitch us under a bus- Those are just a few of the things we could do to make us better-Trades and things like that are out of our control, but these moves are moves that are in Dusty/Hendry's control and they should be made-regardless.
  14. this lieup is pathetic-how can you expect to string together any hits with Neifi-Macias-Blanco-Corey making up 50% of your lineup-stoopid
  15. just boggles the mind...........as I was reading that lineup I could hear the distant cries of a donkey.
  16. Why is it more important for Walker to "protect" Ramirez then to be on base for Lee to drive him in and therefore the cubs to score runs? "Welcome to Bakerology 101-Please have a seat where you like"1st year students have to sit in the back......that means you ronny.....
  17. WOW-what a homer-I mean really-talk about duct tape- Mulder-was hurt most of last year Morris-check the DL page from last year chief Suppan-he just sucks period Marquis-what are they scoring fo him per game- You know, I'm not even going to get into it about this guys-Ask Walt Jocketty if he could switch his rotation with ours and see what he says-homer
  18. Hairston sure deserved it. I swear, he must be the dumbest player to come from a successful baseball family. That guy has made WAY too many dumb plays.... Moises Alou? Considering his '04 performance on the basepaths it's hard to disagree. But my point is: Hairston is stupid. Really stupid. So stupid I can see why he's not starting. Cuz he makes a lot of stupid plays. I expected him to be smarter, since he's from the baseball Hairstons. What did he do? I didn't get to see the game because WGN is stupid and doesn't show alot of games anymore-as well as the fact my wife gave me the "are you [expletive]" look when I mentioned spending 200 bucks on MLB EI's. Please fill me in?
  19. The extra votes were necessary because someone had to cover for me not voting. slacker
  20. I've said this in numerous threads. The Rangers aren't trading Mench this year. They will make a deal but not one for one of the core young offensive players of Mench, Blaylock, Tex, Young, or Nix. I see your point, and you're a lot closer to the Rangers media coverage. The hard part of finding the right player is that the Cardinals want him to be a "young" outfielder. Older outfielders are going to be much easier to come by at the deadline. That being said, it wouldn't surprise me if Walt is smoke screening and really going after pitching. Jason Schmidt anyone? WOW- Schmidt would be an excellent pickup for them-bearing in mind his arm doesn't fall off, but a 1-2 of Mulder/Schmidt would be almost as good as Zambrano/Prior :wink: Maybe so-if Walt could get him I say great job.
  21. =D> Classy post my friend-kudos
