  1. In the end, they'll get 3rd or 4th round comp picks for Asomugha and Zack Miller, maybe another guy or two as well, can't remember off the top of my head.
  2. I do agree they'd prefer major league talent and all we've got to offer them realistically that fits them is Wood and Barney. Honestly, I know Minor is much more highly thought of than Wood, but I wouldn't want to make a lefty for lefty plus swap. Wood could easily have a better career, for all we know. Maybe we don't match up all that well. But, I'd offer Barney, Szczur, and give them their choice of Vitters or Lake and make sure they said no at least.
  3. Hmm, I would think a little luster has fallen off of Minor. He was a top 40ish guy, heading into 2011 and I would have to think since he's had a less than stellar start to his major league career, he could be had for a little less now than if he were dealt this time even last year. My honest guess is Szczur is a top 125ish guy on most guys lists. BA has him lots higher obviously and we all know lists are fun, but not to be taken all that seriously. So, does a lefty starter with 2/3 upside have more value than a potential top of the order hitter with some pop, that plays a very solid CF? The more I think about it, I guess so. But not Brett Jackson type talent. Just more than Szczur. Maybe you send Szczur and Barney? Hell, they could use him, even if I think he's got little value. If not Barney, maybe Vitters or Lake with Szczur? I'm trying not to send trash over in this, so if I'm guilty, I don't realize it honestly. Bottom line though, is if we could land Minor without having to give up Brett, Rizzo, or Baez, I'm all for it.
  4. BA listed Javier Baez as one of their 5 guys that could make the biggest leap from now til next year at this time, that's currently in their top 100. They have 8 guys make top 150 lists, in order to compile their top 100. 3 Cubs made lists that didn't make their top 100. Welington Castillo made 2, with 148 being the highest he was ranked. Dillon Maples made 3, with 119 being the highest. And Trey McNutt made 6, with 108 being his highest.
  5. Mike Minor is an extremely interesting option. The Braves are the exact opposite of us too: they need hitting prospects as badly as we need pitching prospects. If we know(doubtful) that we're getting Soler, trading a guy like Szczur for Minor, makes sense for both teams. Of course, Szczur is a "love or hate" type guy, so it'd obviously depend which end of that the Braves fall into. If not Szczur, a guy like Sappelt, together with Vitters or Lake, and maybe a low level upside guy like Golden, could make it work.
  6. I'm more worried about Wright's smallish hands than I am his straight line speed. And if he ends up the Bears 1st round pick, I'll go ahead and say I'm perfectly fine with it. Although I'd rather grab a big receiver, but it's got nothing to do with Wright's supposed speed issues.
  7. Thanks for adding me in with the Bears. The Bengals will be cool, because of the multiple 1sts. As far as trading goes, I figured it'd be good because we already know the Rams will be trading out of 2 at the very least. Probably going to have some teams moving around for Tannehill as well. My idea for how to trade is let the owners operate on the honor system. Everyone here knows enough not to make ridiculous deals anyway. Use the trade value chart as a reference, but not as an absolute obviously, especially in the RG3 sweepstakes. If a trade is agreed to, we could either have Dew approve it, or have a group of 5, that vote on it, with the majority winning out.
  8. I'd love to hop in the Bears Warroom, if possible. I'll take the Bengals, if possible, if not, how about the Dolphins? By the way, is trading allowed, if teams can agree?
  9. There's plenty of guys that play faster or slower than their 40 times. I'm much more inclined to count on game film than a straight line run, when evaluating a WR, or any other football player, for that matter. There's plenty to like about Wright. He may not be the "big" guy we're supposedly after, but some team is going to wind up very happy with him.
  10. Good for Sean. Interesting contract. They must not know their longterm plans for him, because it's a 3 year, 16.5 mill deal, with 2 mill in incentives for each year, based either on games started or games finished.
  11. That kind of scenario, I'm OK with signing Moss. Because we're adding another vet and still drafting a guy relatively early as well. What I don't want is for Moss to be the guy we add that "fixes" our WR problem. Adding him and nothing else is a horrible idea.
  12. Rotowoorld mentions us as a possible destination for Moss. Still don't know what to think about that personally. Peter King said he doesn't think but 2 WR's will go in the 1st round this year. He's not a draft guy, but he's as plugged in as anyone.
  13. Yeah, I was thinking the same thing as soon as Floyd got done running. I doubt we trade up, but I might even advocate trading back 10 spots or so now. If we could get Hill and add another 3rd, I'd be OK with a scenario like that. With 3 3rds, you could address DE, CB, and another WR, to go along with a O-Lineman in the 2nd. That being said, my guess is Floyd running that well and probably putting himself out of reach for us in the 1st just prioritizes WR that much more for us in FA. And if we DO go that route, I could still see us trading back, maybe to get Adams a little later or maybe still take Hill in the late 20's.
  14. Grubbs is going to be expensive as hell. Don't get me wrong, he'd help us out for sure, but I'd probably spend that kind of money elsewhere personally. By the way, the comments I've heard from Tice and Lovie, make it seem like Webb is definitely our LT next year. I don't know what a Grubbs signing would mean for Williams.
  15. manningham is not worth crying over Again, Manningham may not be great. But he is also worlds better than the trash we currently have. I want to have options available. If there's ONE solid WR out there, we'd have to blow a tton of money to get him. I want options out there. If he's gone, it's just another option that can't happen.
  16. We released Anthony Adams this morning.
  17. There's a report on PFT that says Manningham is likely to wind up in Tampa. Damnit, somebody better be out there for us.
  18. I know teams act like the Combine doesn't change guys' stock all that much, but my guess is this WR class is going to look much different than it did a week ago, in a lot of mocks. I doubt we can even sniff Floyd without moving up to 10ish or so. Hill could vault into the 1st, Wright will almost definitely be on the board when we pick and a guy like McNutt could see his stock rise quite a bit as well. With the depth here, if we fail to land someone in FA, it's possible to could take WR's in the 2nd and with a pick in the 3rd and come out of it looking very good. That said, I'd still want to take one in the 1st, if we miss in FA.
  19. I'm all about adding to the offense this offseason, but as far as defensive needs go, what do you guys want to see addressed? I'd love to find a way to grab Mario, whether it's our biggest need or not. My gut tells me we'll bring Idonije back and draft a guy inside the top 3 rounds as well. I don't really see anything outside of our own guys that makes a ton of sense to do in FA on defense, unless MAYBE we take a flyer on Laron Landry, but he'll probably be too expensive anyway. Outside of DE, I could see us taking a Safety, a CB, and an OLB, which is probably my biggest want for the D anyway. I don't see us spending a 1st or a 2nd on the D unless something really just fell in our laps we didn't expect. Anyway, I guess I'd rank my needs for the D in order as OLB, DE, S, and CB.
  20. Roache as a top 10 pick does nothing for me, but he'd be a great supplemental round pick, if he's out all season(having surgery tomorrow) and drops, like Bradley Jr did.
  21. Let's not kid ourselves. Wayne, at 33 this upcoming season, is still worlds better than the trash we've got currently.he still had a decent year with High School caliber crap trying to throw it to him last year. He's not ideal, by any stretch, but he'd still be an upgrade for us. Pairing him with a 1st round WR wouldn't be the worst thing on earth.
  22. Total worst case scenario for WR's is this: Wallace is tendered a 1st, Bowe, V-Jax, Desean, Stevie, and Welker are franchised. It would leave us with these options: Lloyd, Colston, Manningham, Wayne, Garcon, Meachem, and Laurent Robinson. Personally, I want nothing to do with Lloyd, he's probably staying put or going to New England anyway. Garcon and Robinson are both secondary options, in any offense. Is Colston a product of their offense? Is Wayne done? Is Meachem ever going to live up to his potential? It leaves Manningham as the best option for us and even then, we'd definitely need to address WR in the 1st, 2nd round at the latest, if we're really committed to giving Jay some weapons. That said, I think V-Jax will hit the market and some team is going to have to overpay for him. If it's us, I'm completely fine with it.
  23. Damn, I really like that actually. Mine is not happening, too much has to fall perfectly. That's pretty realistic, if Bowe doesn't hit FA, I'd take V-Jax or Stevie and keep the rest of your offseason in tact. If we have to settle for someone not in that class though, then I've got to take. WR much higher in the draft. Maybe sign John Carlson and take a WR in the 2nd possibly. Or take a WR in the 1st and draft Cam Johnson in the 2nd, still signing Carlson as your TE.
  24. All I've read is Jackson MAY be willing to give them a slight discount on a longterm deal, but the Chargers will wait to see the market set itself. That's great news, in my mind. He'll hit the open market and it's up to us to get him here at that point.
  25. Perfect offseason for me: Extend Forte, keep Okoye and Jennings. Trade 2nd 3rd rounder for Desean(I love the speed at least), sign Mario. Sign Henne to be backup QB. Draft Floyd in 1st, Adams falls to us in 2nd, and take Zeitler in 3rd. Ladarius Green in 4th.
