If Jay played well, it'd make it harder to play Trubisky? Stretch? Yeah. I got nothing.

    It was a smokescreen. Pace obviously fell in love with Trubisky. The Bears are well under the cap, the Glennon money doesn't mean anything. And he can be cut after a year, with very minimal ramifications. You couldn't bring Jay back again, even if personally, I'd have been OK with it. You bring Hoyer back and everyone knows you're after a QB at 3. Glennon got teams off a QB at 3. Pace did anything and everything to get Trubisky.

    My honest guess is Glennon starts the first 3 games. If we're 0-2 and down at the half in game 3, that's when Trubisky takes over. I THINK I'd rather see him start all 16, but if he gets 13+, I'd be happy enough. Its just that Glennon gives us no real chance, unless the D is dominant and I'd be OK with some rookie mistakes, given the upside Trubisky has too.

    Jose Albertos, RHP, Chicago NL (Profile) Level: Short Season Age: 18 Org Rank: 4 Top 100: NR Line: 5 IP, 4 H, 2 BB, 1 R, 8 K Notes He was a bit wild during the spring, but Albertos has thrown more strikes lately at Eugene, allowing his stuff to thwart rookie-level hitters. He sits 92-95 with sink and will flash a plus curveball and changeup. It’s impact stuff if Albertos can locate it and stay healthy. (He had an ominous 13-day stretch without a start in mid-July and then got shelled when he returned, but has been very good since then.) He’s done both for the last 20 days.

    I hate saying this, but I expect Glennon to start the season and go 0-4 before Fox makes a change. And what's sadder, is I can see Trubisky going 6-6 or 7-5 the rest of the way, which could keep Fox around.

    Romero is extremely interesting at this point. All these guys that are relievers in the lower levels have a hard road in front of them. We've got quite a few guys that are interesting out of the pen right now. I feel oddly confident Maples is going to wind up a true contributor. And I figure the rest of these guys will produce an arm or two, as well. Not even counting the starters we may wind up moving that way too.
