  1. I wouldn't blink if the Nats offered us Harper straight up for Castro.
  2. The Brenley kid. Brenly has already been mentioned. Zeller, Wallach, and Harman were released though. Harman being a surprise.
  3. No surprise, Zych is in Tennessee. Not sure what position Geiger or Bruno play in Daytona. Honestly, if everyone got their assignments already, Vogelbach likely would have been excited and broke it on Twitter.
  4. I hate our infield bench. If he has to go to the DL, what happens? Watkins? If so, I hope he'd get the strong side of a platoon anyway..... That seems optimistic to me, but who knows how the front office sees him. after spring training. I'm guessing we'll find some waiver wire retread to sit on the bench. We're tight, as far as the 40 man goes. Raley being the easiest to keep, in my mind. Of course this happened in a game against the Astros, where they were strictly playing minor leaguers.
  5. I hate our infield bench. If he has to go to the DL, what happens? Watkins? If so, I hope he'd get the strong side of a platoon anyway.....
  6. Barney with a 5 stitch cut on his knee today. Will miss Opening Day(Lillibridge starts) and DL will be decided within next day or two. Ugh.
  7. Yes, UM, Boozer punching the ref in the nuts was fantastic. That'll be around forever.
  8. I think San Fran is our ideal trade part, if we move back. They've got 11 picks, starting with 1-31. They also have 2-2, 2-29, 3-12, and 3-31.
  9. Based on tweets, Bruno, Carhart, and Geiger are starting in Daytona. Sounds like everyone's getting their assignments today. If I'm picking an upset, I'll say Vogelbach starts at Daytona.
  10. I know I wanted Josh Sale or Stetson Allie at that pick, so I'd have screwed it up too. But Kaleb Cowart, Mike Foltynewicz, Christian Yelich, Gary Brown, Jesse Biddle, Zacj Lee, Aaron Sanchez, Noah Syndergaard, Taijuan Walker, Nick Castellanos, Mike Olt, Tyrell Jenkins, and Jedd Gyorko were all picked in between Simpson and Reggie Golden. Simpson was a signability pick, period.
  11. Dontrelle and Hayden Simpson released as well, sounds like others too.
  12. I agree, but who knows, maybe they want a Gronkowski/Hernandez type combo? A stretch obviously and I doubt they go that route, but stranger things have happened. The main thing I don't want to see is us take Barkley or some other QB early. I want to see the first 3-4 picks all be possible contributors from Day 1. Unless we get Jones, who seems like he'd be a good fit and worth the wait for the longterm.
  13. It's top 12 protected this year, top 10 next year, top 8 the following year, then unprotected.
  14. At this point, I'm thinking we're done in FA. At least until after the draft. It's wide-ass open as to what we could do in the 1st round though. The only positions I think we are positively not going to address with our 1st pick are Center, Running Back, and Safety. I hate saying it, but even QB could be in play, I guess. TE is still conceivable as well, although unlikely. I think WR does get addressed within our top 3 picks, possibly O-Line does as well. With one of DE, DT, LB, or CB, likely being our 1st round pick. Really hoping for a trade down more than ever though.
  15. The draft last year was iffy, at best. I probably tend to give it a better grade than I should necause of Jeffery. Trestman? Boom or bust type hire. I'm glad we went with an offense guy, at least. Total BPA draft, I'm guessing, since we basically have starter caliber guys at every spot now. Nice, but scary spot to be in. Based on last years picks.
  16. Gooney, it seemed like you weren't all that pleased with Emery during his first offseason, but I'm sensing you're coming around somewhat?
  17. I really like this. Surprised he had to settle for a one year deal. Thats at least a slight upgrade from Louis, correct?
  18. Since I'm the one that used the term, I'll change it to I'm just not interested in trading our multiple time All Star, just turned 23 year old SS. And I doubt any team would come close to offering up what I'd be willing to deal him for. A prospect package would start with Profar(who the Rangers likely wouldn't do straight up) and include another 2-3 guys with him. The Cards could send us Taveras, Miller, and more. The O's could send us Bundy, Machado, and more.....None of these would ever happen.
  19. How many pitches did he throw? Stanford isn't releasing that info this year. Law or someone else said they doubted he'd hit 120 pitches in a game this year though. Were the 3 HBP just a hardassed college macho thing or was he wild? Those would have to be some quick k's and easy innings to not get up to 120 through 9. My guess is the former. No mentions of wildness from the tweets I read. Everything was very positive on the outing.
  20. I'll take the Redskins as my double up.
  21. How many pitches did he throw? Stanford isn't releasing that info this year. Law or someone else said they doubted he'd hit 120 pitches in a game this year though.
  22. If "right deal" means historically comical overpay, than I concur. Otherwise, Castro is here. As he should be.
  23. So, the community wants 75,000 per additional nighttime event, for their inconvenience.
  24. Grays' last 4 starts: 34IP, 15H, 2ER, 2W, 44K's.
