  2. When he's at 80 thru 3 against us, he'll call and beg Theo to re-sign him in the offseason.

    Rizzo

This is an extremely likable bunch.
  4. @HammelTime39: @miggymont26 Good fingers tonight guy. You put 'em down, I'll just keep following you around. A big "Hell yes!" To CubsNation!!! #wearegood
  5. Great on Twitter, glad we didn't sign him though.
  6. Vogelbach with an RBI single now, 3-3, with a BB.
  7. With Rizzo's penchant for getting hit, I wouldn't object at all to keeping Vogelbach. Let him DH against the AL(and hope NL adopts it), while being the 1st PH option off the bench and spotting Rizzo 5-10 games a year at 1B. 250 AB's from him could be of use to a good team.
  8. Geez, he's [expletive] killing baseballs.
  9. It's sad this excites me....But I'd love to give him a shot in the pen immediately.
  10. I think I saw the Angels are paying for all but 15 mill or so.
  11. He's working out in Texas according to a report today.
  12. Dave Cameron(I know) mentioned us as being one of his 3 educated guesses(White Sox and Rays being the other 2). If they're paying the salary, that'd be pretty cool.
  13. Balfour seems like a better option for being a stopgap guy.
  14. He was Bryant's teammate at SDSU, if I'm not mistaken. Was considered a nice get in the 11-12th round area where we took him. Was a top 200 prospect or so. I don't think he's anything more than a fill in at Iowa right now, to my recollection he's done nothing since being drafted to put him on anyone's radar.
  15. I think so, but I'm a massive La Stella hater. Curious, but why? Obviously not a long term starter type, but seems like a nice bench option to me.
  16. I'm thinking somewhere between .650 and .700. Just fine with me if his defense is good. If its in that range, is that good enough to start over TLS? Is the expected D a big enough upgrade, because I'd expect TLS to do the same as that offensively. I'm not being argumentative here, truly wondering if it'd be worth it.....
  17. It'd depend on the price tag of Soriano and if it'd keep us from adding other stuff prior to the deadline. If Grimm and Ramirez aren't out long, I don't know if spending a bunch on Soriano makes sense(isnt he wanting 10+ per still?). I know the pen is frustrating as all [expletive] right now, but if both are back within a month(plus Wada), is it a good idea to spend that heavily on Soriano? Again, no idea if its reasonable to expect Ramirez back in that time frame or not.
  18. TLS isn't ready to come back yet, right? Unless I've missed something today anyway. But he'd need a minor league rehab before coming back, wouldn't he? As for Russell, at his age, what are we expecting out of him in the majors? .650ish OPS maybe? Is that good enough for us if we're competing? Should we expect more than that from him at this stage? I'm all for keeping him up, but only if he's worthy of starting for us. If not, I'd definitely rather him play full time. Just bring Alcantara back if he shows enough in AAA to warrant it, if Russell doesn't appear to be an upgrade now.
  19. Bryant played CF in college and some scouting directors thought it'd be his best pro position coming out of the draft. This is far from some hair-brained "this may be cool, lets try it" type of move.
  20. (Ron Burgandy voice) #wearereallygood?
  21. We're all very impressed you took the time to write down all their names, Ash. The teenage sisters missed the cut.
  22. Almora would need to become a top 25ish type prospect again to even have a remote shot at being able for that to happen.
  23. What are they saying? They think this will be the end of Castro? Yup, mainly Harold Reynolds With Ripken chiming in that if he's a SS, you don't want to move him off, with Harold agreeing and acting like 2B may be really hard for him to adjust to.
