  1. That would explain the rumors of Rondon doo dooing in everyone's gym bags. He's just playing his role and earning his salary. Its Chapter 42, article 17, paragraph 9, verse 2 in The Cubs Way......Thou shalt horsefeathers when called on for the good of the team.
  2. Goldschmidt for Vogelbach, McKinney and Pierce Johnson Theo is so good he decided he'd do this dynasty without picking on the mentally deprived.
  3. I'd steer clear of Chapman under any circumstance. I don't want to deal Javy either, but if I could replace him with Torres and Candelario, I'd do that. With Doolittle, McGee, Abad, and Smith all likely available too on some level, I'm hoping we don't need to overpay TOO MUCH for a reliever.
  4. The Mariners are 11 for 12 with RISP.
  5. I was just thinking about that. You thinking Rich Hill? Doolittle? Either, but I was thinking Doolittle would be more likely.
  6. I can see Billy loving him some Zagunis and Caratini.
  7. With Urias' pitch count limits, we should get him out no later than the 5th, even if he's on. This should be a good day for our offense.
  8. we are only ONE-THIRD of the way through the season! I love it. They're voodoo magicing everything they can piece together and are 9.5 back. I'm guessimnguessimng Theo sent them a care package of bardol and vagisil before the season started.
  9. Adding a TOR type arm does what for a playoff series odds? Does it move the bar enough to truly make it worthwhile?
  10. If we could somehow manage a normal 13 position player group, keeping Vogelbach as a PH/DH could conceivably work, I guess.
  11. What a horsefeathering draft this is turning out to be......Schwarber in the first. Stinnett isn't great in the 2nd, but he's got a chance to make the majors, I guess. Zagunis in the 3rd is a steal. Sands and Steele were great overslots to grab in the 4th and 5th, both obviously have rotation upside still. Got Cease in the 6th, our best shot at a top of the rotation arm......That's more than enough to be considered a great draft...... But they also plucked Ryan Williams in the 10th(with a 1,000 bonus lol), Chesny Young came in the 14th too. For that matter, finding Jason Vosler in the 15th and Brad Markey in the 19th is pretty fun. Hedges and Null may even be slightly more than org guys possibly. At any rate, they horsefeathering killed it.
  12. He's supposedly hitting 97-99 too. No clue what to truly make of him, definitely disappointed, but he's still plenty young.
  13. Ronald Bolanos was cleared today. No idea if he's willing to sign within the next 2 weeks though. Geez, I want one more addition though.......
  14. Its possible. But not that likely, in my mind. The only way he gets dealt is if a team really wants him and feels he'll get claimed before he gets to them. My guess is he goes unclaimed and is signed to a minor league deal by a contender, hopefully us.
  15. They're not going to waste assets on a Catcher. There's plenty of offense on this team already and they can get by with a hole in the offense. Hoyer just said he doesn't foresee us looking for offense and this offense in the summer months will easily be able to sustain a .500 OPS out of the 8th spot in the lineup. And if it can't, they'll bring up the best catching prospect in the minors to fill it, instead of trading for something that depletes what they can spend on pitching.
  16. Time to grab Matusz to replace Richard immediately.
  17. Good lord, we've looked awful at the plate, aside from Dex.
  18. Looks like we'll be facing Urias on Thursday.
  19. Alex Wood has triceps tightness and likely to miss his next start. Maeda has swelling in his throwing hand and is now at risk for missing Thursday's start.
  20. I'd love Moore, but I wouldn't give up much for him currently. Nor would I want to give up solid pieces during the season for a guy we're likely looking for future dividends out of, rather than current ones. If he's out there in the off season, I'd be much more into it.
  21. I'm holding out hope for Gutierrez. I'm very disappointed Ruiz STILL hasn't even been cleared, when most guys coming over months later have been.
