  1. I think the Eloy wave is a tsunami.
  2. What percentage of MLB hitters BABIP .260 for a season? Maybe that's a bit of hyperbole in my part but the point is he needs to maintain a relatively high BABIP to carry a decent slash line. How many guys carry a .340+ BABIP for an entire year that Javy currently has that also have his BB and K rates that aren't absolutely elite hitters? That's true. But he's still 23, super talented, and showing tons of improvement.
  3. I envision Baez at around .270/325/465 right around 800 OPS. I think many people underrate him bc many thought he would be a superstar. But, I think he settles around those numbers with a versatile glove. And I think he's a very valuable part of the future. With his current profile he's gonna have to carry a .340-.360 BABIP to get to that slash line. Which certainly is possible but if he drops to a .260 or so BABIP guy that slash line gets pretty ugly What percentage of MLB hitters BABIP .260 for a season?
  4. He's still improving. It won't shock me to see him get more selective over time. But its not going to be overnight. All the prospect reports said you'd need to be patient to see the final product. He's no where near finished yet and the upside is still immense.
  5. Why do you say that? He's supremely useful as a reserve infielder(especially on this team that has SS covered and several RH hitting IF), he's not going to start making real money until after next year at the least, and I don't think he has a ton of trade value since teams rightfully won't see him as a starting IF. Just a hunch really, that I think he'll be part of a trade between now and Monday for a bigger long-term piece that the Cubs have been rumored to be acquiring since the Chapman deal. I was thinking that too, but I'm not too confident on us adding a SP at these prices. Guess he could go with Zagunis or something for Reddick.

  7. Billy may value a guy like him fairly decently. But my guess is most teams would prefer some upside low level arm types to him.
  8. Soler will just get optioned.
  9. [tweet] [/tweet] Just how magnificent of a bastard IS Theo?

  11. What is this? 3 of 4 games without Willie in the lineup? Or am I mistaken?

  13. Leal is on the DL so I'm not sure he'll get promoted this season even if he comes back reasonably soon. Really don't see Castillo getting promoted except maybe at the end of the season if South Bend needs playoff help. If anyone moves up from Eugene to SB, it'll be Oscar De La Cruz. Ah ok, didn't realize Leal was on the DL. Is it just me or is anyone else surprised Dillon Maples is still in the organization? Is he gonna become anything? Maybe a half ass entrepreneur, if he hasn't blown his 2.5. He could probably buy a car wash. Some kiosks in a mall. Learn Poker and play lots of private games.
  14. [tweet] [/tweet] And the ask from the Rays must have influenced the Marlins. FFS, that's a horsefeathers ton for Cashner and Rea.
  15. [tweet] [/tweet] LOL
  16. Can someone explain the reason Andrew Cashner is an in demand trade target? He had a couple of pretty damn good seasons in 2013 and 2014 but has been worth -1.2 wins (BR) since the start of 2015. This year he has a 4.76 ERA, an even higher FIP of 4.94 and has had issues staying healthy which has been something that's plagued him in the past. And for a cheap ass org like the Marlins, he doesn't even have much control as he's in his 2nd to last arb year. Maybe the Marlins see something they can fix in him or they are gambling that he will put it together or maybe the return to SD is not much. Its because he's available. There aren't many that truly are.
  17. Is it even possible Ventura tried to cool Chapman by stretching out the inning?
  18. April 2016 Javy doesn't have that AB. He's improving week to week and its showing.
  19. No idea, but they must not think his upside is what it used to be.
  20. Taijuan Walker is throwing in front of scouts tomorrow at Wrigley. Is he worth giving up Happ for? I say yes.
  21. [tweet] [/tweet] He is the man.
