Is there something about the best starting staff in the majors that you don't like? Yes, this guy that is currently pitching for us is our only option if one of them gets hurt or loses effectiveness. Bingo.

The 5 that we have been using have been fine enough. I mean I'm fine with getting a starter but not because this guy sucks I'm not counting on our 5 staying healthy again. Or even as good as they've been.

Bud Norris just left at 13 pitches. Dodgers rotation is now Kazmir/Maeda/McCarthy.....They're after Archer and/or Moore. Looks like they'll need both to fill out their 5 man.

Lucroy wanted his option ripped up, making him a rental. That could be the case for any deal involving him. I thought the return seemed light, that looks to be why. My guess is he's told the Brewers to tell teams that, up front. Surprising he won't go to Cleveland, not a great look for him.

I don't think its possible to lose out by not acquiring Cashner. I would agree, especially considering what the Marlins gave up. But a young cost-controlled starter having a solid season? Price tag gonna be huge. Yeah, it will. Personally, that's a deal I'd wait til the winter to do, if I'm Texas. I doubt he's got enough innings left to last into the playoffs.
