  1. He had a poor junior season in college. Heading into his draft year, he was considered a potential 3rd-5th round pick.

  3. Probably shouldn't have won that one. In the past, I'd just expect whoever to score a few in the late innings. Its still flat out amazing to me that we're where we're at, after 5 years. You dreamed it, you probably thought it was possible. But, there was always that built in "something's going to horsefeathers up" going thru your head too. Now? We're just better than everyone and we horsefeathering know it. Down 3 in the 9th? What's our win probability? 50/50? The Pirates, hell EVERYONE, treats beating us like they just won the World Series. And they SHOULD. Since the real one is on lockdown.
  4. Well, horsefeathers that horsefeathers.
  5. Very interesting mock from Hoge. I love Thomas. Evans is one of my favorite Safeties. Godwin? I'm OK with him, but probably prefer taking a TE, like Everett or Shaheen in the 3rd, maybe Butt, if he's healthy enough. Kaaya in the 4th is A-OK with me. Walker is great value and probably upgrades Kwiatkowski. Phillips is good value and has upside in the 5th..... But, what makes this mock is taking Conley in the 7th.....I mean, its a 7th. If he's guilty, cut him. Cut him if there's even a remote doubt he did it. But, on the off chance its 100% clear he's innocent, you just got a 1st rounder in the 7th and don't have to compete with every other team in trying to sign him as an UDFA. Too risky? With McDonald not too far in the rear view. Or can this be done and it make sense?
  6. I see a few reports that teams are struggling to clear Hooker medically. The amount of smoke this year is insane. Possibly due to a lack of teams wanting to move up. I genuinely have no idea when the QB's go.....Bovada has it at 3.5 on how many go in the 1st. Trubisky at 10.5, Watson at 25.5, Mahomes at 24.5..... I'll guess it goes this way..... 5) Trubisky goes to Cleveland, Tennessee gets pick 12, 52, and Houston's 2nd next year. 22) Mahomes goes to Chicago. Miami gets 36 and next years 2nd. 25) Watson goes to Houston 42) Saints take Webb 59) KC takes Peterman 62) Pitt takes Kizer That said, as wrong as that is......Outside of being sure Garrett eventually goes 1st, its really hard to know for sure who even is guaranteed being a top 10 pick. Circumstances could literally push just about anyone else out.
  7. I like hearing both rumors, because the loser at 2 still probably wants to trade to 3.
  8. So, you have Foster and Peppers failing piss tests. You've got Caleb Brantley dislodging a woman's tooth. Now, you've got this.... https://twitter.com/AllbrightNFL/status/856700840748474368 This has to get broken prior to the draft, right?
  9. I am so horsefeathering sick of hearing about this horsefeathers group of QB's. Take one at 3 Pace. Do it. At least you'll get fired quicker. Honest guess is we can trade back into the 20's and get Watson. Hopefully that's what happens if we get him. It's more likely that they trade up from their second pick. Doesn't seem like it, but that's what I meant there. Trade back into the 1st, using our 2nd+ to get into the 20's.

  12. Yeah, that's it for him. Oh well, no extremely early promotion.
  13. Normally, I don't get very excited about EXST numbers. In Hudson's case, I did. He had gone 11 3 0 0 1 12 in his last 2 outings and had rave reviews, to boot. Hitting spots, generating weak contact..... I kind of suspect, that IF things go right, its a "lightbulb on" moment and not something gradual, considering the clumsiness, lack of mechanics, etc that's plagued him so far.
  14. Nice. It might just take a start or two, before he's on the national radar, if he continues where he left off in EXST. He wasn't really that sharp. 9/4 GO/FO, but that's about all there was that was positive. 4.1 2 4 2 2 1 final line. I'd like to know if he's added any velo or even what his pitches are looking like currently. His upside is probably top 5 or so of all of our arms at this point. Of course, his downside is obviously much more likely too. Still, he's a guy that could conceivably go from borderline top 30 to inside our top 10, so he's worth keeping track of.

  17. Mekkes. Watch. 2 innings. 2 K's. You know the rest. Or you should anyway.
  18. The Cubs signed 3+ years worth of IFA's in 2015. This was the mentality, with the loss of 2 years ability to sign impact guys. Add in the fact the Cubs have used more than a normal amount of draft picks on pitching, its actually easy to see why guys are moving upward. Its to be expected, with a group of high dollar signings.
  19. Alzolay had an excellent outing. 5 6 1 0 0 7, 5:3 GO/FO.
  20. Nah, that's up July 2nd. That said, it'll be very interesting to chart which teams are spending what on the upcoming class. Since all that affects what they can give him too.
